As expected, fans are dying to know if there will be a third season of Private Practice.

Before we answer that question, however, let's cover the rest of season two, shall we? E! Online recently provided us with a couple of spoilers for the next two episodes:

• Amanda Foreman returns as Katie for the April 30 season finale. Look for her to be bearing arms... and we don't mean in a sleeveless dress!

• Dell's daughter, Betsy, will also make another appearance on the show.

• And, yes, Private Practice will almost assuredly be picked up for a third season. Its post-Grey's Anatomy timeslot has been working out very well.

Is Violet's baby daddy on Private Practice Pete or Sheldon?

None of us know for sure, nor do we know when we'll even find out. Or do we?

According to E! Online's spoiler Q&A today, the mystery of who it is and when we will find out may soon be solved when the series returns from its hiatus April 23.

The photo below is from the April 30 finale, "Yours, Mine and Ours," and Violet will "make her choice between Pete and Sheldon" in the Private Practice season finale.

Is this a clear victory for Team Pete? Or classic Shonda Rhimes misdirection? And what will the big revelation result in for both men in Violet's life?

Last night on Private Practice, just about everyone faced a crisis of conscience.

Violet struggles with her feelings for Pete on top of her pregnancy. Addison and her married crush still had strong feelings for each other. Sam was asked to lie to protect a friend in a malpractice suit. Cooper's 12-year-old pregnant patient and her mom clashed over whether she should or should not have an abortion. Needless to say, tension ran high at Oceanside.

On tomorrow night's all-new episode of Private Practice, Cooper struggles with a patient's mom who is allowing her 12-year-old daughter to be sexually active, Pete begins dating his patient's mom, causing jealousy in Violet, Sam takes the stand in a malpractice trial for a colleague, and Addison continues to fight her feelings for a very persistent Noah.

Last night on Private Practice, Addison couldn't stop thinking about hot, married Noah, while Sam continued pimping out slutty Naomi (their words), the Cooper-Charlotte-Violet relationships grew even weirder by the minute, and Dell (below) actually had a story line!

As you can see in the sneak preview below from Thursday's new episode, "Finishing," Pete and Sheldon are asking Violet to determine, once and for all, who's the father of her baby.

It's about time, since this story line is only slightly less old than Izzie's ailment / ghost love story with Denny on Grey's Anatomy. Speaking of which, she's supposedly being officially diagnosed this week. Five freaking months after Shonda basically gave it away via spoilers.

Oh, right, anyway, the Private Practice clip ...
