The facts learned from "Dim Sum, Lose Some" were these:

The case of the week featured the dim sum restaurant located directly below Emerson's office. Turns out the owner was murdered and, during their investigation, Chuck, Emerson and Ned discovered that the dining room was famous for illegal gambling.

Eventually, the crime-fighting trio - and Olive - went undercover in hilarious outfits to infiltrate the poker game. In the end, the culprit was the restaurant manager, who killed his boss in order to collect his life insurance. It wasn't the most exciting story, but it did lead to a few personal revelations:

- One of the poker players was the female dog trainer we met in an episode last season. Her and Emerson hit it off - if you know what we mean! - and it's unlikely we've seen the last of this beauty.

- A friend of Ned's father showed up at The Pie Hole. He asked about the whereabouts of Ned's dad, which led to Olive and Chuck going to the address that Ned gave them for his father (he hasn't bothered to visit his dad up in two decades). At the home, Olive and Chuck discovered that Ned has twin half-brothers, who happen to be magicians.

Turns out Ned's dad abandoned them, too. Later in the episode, Ned summons the courage to visit these siblings. They greet him with a hug, which would make for a great ending, except: Ned's dad's friend (Dwight) is seen in a car outside the house... with a gun by his side.
