On this week's episode of Rescue Me...

Franco takes over as acting Lieutenant and whips the place into shape. Unfortunately, when the crew takes a call, Franco makes a bad decision. Lou fixes the problem and takes back his position as Lieutenant.

Tommy decides to give Lou his real letter and once again Lou reads it. This time, because Tommy truly expresses how he feels, Lou decides to give everyone their letters to read.

At the rehearsal dinner, Janet reveals that Tommy "promised" that he would retire from firefighting. Tommy learns that Lou handed out the letters to everyone and that is why they are acting friendly towards him. He feels betrayed by Lou.
