Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 5 features a sad case: the death of Maura's lab assistant. Suzie was apparently killed at home with a heavy object after finishing work for the evening. To make matters worse, the cops find lots of evidence bags and a bunch of money in her walls.

Despite Frankie and Maura's insistence that Suzie was not dirty, the cops have to investigate, and Maura reluctantly calls the governor to let him know what is going on. The governor suspends Maura from duty because he is afraid it will appear like there's a coverup in play if Suzie's superior continues to work while Suzie is under posthumous investigation for evidence tampering. Even Suzie's friends have to admit that it looks suspicious, and everyone begins questioning whether Suzie was clean or not.

While the detectives try to put together Suzie's life and death, Maura tries to keep herself entertained without thinking about cases. A couple of lucky breaks lead her back to the lab to help the detectives put together their case.
