Scrubs Spoilers: Turk's Protege

Korbi TV had previously promised us we'd be meeting Turk's protege, played by Lee Thompson Young, during this season of Scrubs.  Now that we're more than halfway through season eight, readers wrote in to her latest column asking Korbi what's the deal?

Don't worry.  Korbi promises us that Lee Thompson Young will definitely appear later this season and he and Turk will put out some fine scenes together.

Good, with Zach Braff and creator Bill Lawrence leaving the show after this season, we're going to need all the talent we can get if there's going to be a seasn nine of Scrubs!

Missing Characters on Scrubs Season Eight

As most Scrubs fans have probably noticed, each episode of Scrubs this season has been missing at least one of its major cast members.  It turns out, this hasn't been mere coincidence!

According to Ausiello Files, Scrubs creator, Bill Lawrence, had to trim the budget in order to make a season eight financially feasible for ABC.  One of those concessions included giving each cast member two episodes off!

I guess that really explains why J.D. (Zach Braff) was missing in "My Abscence."  Thank you Bill for doing whatever it takes to get us this amazing season eight we've been loving!

Scubs Cast

All together in one episode?  Not likely.

Scrubs Season One Quotes

While season eight of Scrubs has been surprisingly fantastic, there's nothing like the first season of the best medical comedy, nay ... show, to grace televisions.

We've put together one of the most extensive collection of Scrubs quotes from season one for you to browse.  Here's just a small sampling of the 300+ Scrubs quotes we added from season one.

Dr. Cox: Did you actually just page me to find out how much tylenol to give to Mrs. Lensner?
J.D.: I was worried it could exasterbate the patient's...
Dr. Cox: Its regular strength tylenol. Here's what you do: Get her to open her mouth, take a handfull and throw it at her. Whatever sticks - that's the correct dosage | permalink
J.D.: How's it going?
Janitor: I'm 37 years old, and I'm a janitor; how do you think it's going?
J.D.: Now, there is nothing wrong with being a janitor.
Janitor: Really? Thank you. You...you've turned my life around. I'm gonna have to go tell my janitor wife and all our janitor kids that life is worth living; and that comes straight from our hero, Dr. Whoozitz...Dr. Nothin'. No, seriously, come on. You can come over to my humble house and point out things that are cheap | permalink
J.D.: So, nothing was going on last night between me and Elliot.
Dr. Cox: Good thing you still have your flower then | permalink
Dr. Cox: I don't know if they taught you this in the land of fairies and puppy-dog tails, where you obviously, if not grew up, then at least spent most of your summers, but you're in the real world now. Nnnnn-kay? | permalink

The Scrubs Crew

Carla: She doesn't want me to have men here because I'm unmarried.
Turk: Well tell her I needed a place to crash; she doesn't have to know we had sex all night.
Carla: She speaks English!
Turk: Then what the hell are you translating for?
Carla: Because you don't speak Spanish!
Turk: Oh! | permalink
Turk: Okay, it's true, I have never said "I love you" to a woman before.
Todd: Well, then, how do you get them to sleep with you? | permalink
Janitor: Girl problems?
J.D.: How'd you know?
Janitor: You look like you got problems, you're a girl, hence girl problems. Watch your nails. [closes counter] | permalink

Now as soon as you're ready, go ahead and browse the other several hundred Scrubs quotes we added.

Scrubs Interns: "Our Meeting with Braintrust"

ABC has released part six of its series of webisodes, Scrubs Interns.  In this latest installment, Sunny meets up with the Braintrust, minus Doug, who gave the Janitor a dirty look.

The Janitor and Ted ask Sunny to film their pilot for their sitcom idea, Legal Custodians.  The show looks so good I'd watch it... in bed.  Watch the clip... on your computer.

Scrubs Recap: "My Comedy Show"

The second of two new episodes of Scrubs last night, "My Comedy Show" not only had J.D. in it but a lot of the older cast memebers we haven't seen in awhile including Laverne (though a flashback) and Beardface.  In the episodes, the new interns put on a sketch show roasting the older members.  Some of it was very funny.

Denise and Sunny Kiss

Meanwhile, the serious plotline was Elliot trying to convince Denise she needed to spend some time outside the hopsital and she used a patient to prove it.  Oh and the Janitor spent the episode trying to get Carla to admit she plucked a humongous breast hair.  Find out what happened to everyone in our "My Comedy Show" recap and enjoy some of our favorite quotes from the episode:

Janitor [to Carla]: I think we should just get this out in the open. I saw you pluck your special hair the other day. I was there, I saw. Question is, what are we going to do about it? I have an idea. Let me speak first. May I? Good. I believe that you should give me the hair. Because I have been scrapbooking the most disgusting things that I could think of and I want to put it on the page in between my decayed molars and a snug, which is, a snail-slug hybrid that I was able to splice together in my garage. Unsuccessfully | permalink
Elliot: You know, I used to use an incubator to keep my lunch warm. Until some whiny new mom complained that her premie smelled like a ham sandwich. Weird thing was, I had a tuna melt in there, not ham | permalink

Scrubs Recap: "My Absence"

The first of two new episodes of Scrubs last night, "My Absence," was more of a preview of a potential season nine than anything.  In the episode, J.D. was taking two days off for vacation, but was still narrating the show via being on the cell phone with Elliot and being put on speakerphone.  As Zach Braff has repeatedly said, he will continue to narrate the show if there's a season nine, but will not appear on screen.  Get it?  My Absence?

Elliot on the Phone

Anyways.  Elliot, much like the rest of us, was tyring to cope with missing J.D; Carla told Turk they were having a second baby; Ted was busy introducing the world to his new girlfriend, the Gooch; and Cox was trying to deal with Carla no longer caring.  Catch up on all the events in our "My Absence" recap.

Now for our usual favorite quotes from the episode:

Elliot: J.D. was sitting in that exact chair when we had our third kiss
Kelso: Oh that is very romantic, I will try not to drill any more farts into it | permalink
Elliot: Dr. Kelso, you do realize you don't work here anymore
Kelso: Look, her husband was an old friend of mine, plus I have forgotten more medicine than you two will ever know. [to Denise] I don't know you but I assume I have you beat because you're blond and rolling with ms reeks of beer
Elliot: It's my hair, okay?
Denise: And watch the lip, grandpa, because you wouldn't be the first old man I beat up
Kelso: I like her, she has girl balls | permalink

ABC has released the fifth installment in their Scrubs websidoes that focus on the new intern class.  In the latest episode, entitled "Late Night with Jimmy Show," Jimmy the overly touchy orderly becomes the focus of the webisode.

We were actually really impressed with Jimmy's impressions and the little dance off at the end.  Definitely an entertaining four minutes, so enjoy.

Scrubs Recap: "My Lawyer's In Love"

The second of the two back-to-back new episodes of Scrubs, "My Lawyer's In Love" focused on everyone's favorite lawyer, Ted.  As you can probably figure out from the title, Ted finally found his soul mate, the adorable Stephanie (played by singer Kate Micucci).

Ted and Stephanie

Also a major focus of the episode was Dr. Cox trying to find time to balance out all the things he loves doing in addition to the bureaucratic mess that is being the Chief of Medicine.  Find out how he did it and how things worked out for Ted in our "My Lawyer's In Love" recap.

Oh and we're still undecided on our favorite quote from the episode, so please help by voting on your favorite:

Jack [to J.D.'s baby]: Janus, you are one ugly baby, seriously
J.D: Did you actually teach your son to be mean to a baby?
Cox: Not just any baby, but your baby. Come here Jacky boy, you're going to get ten thousand jelly beans, I love you so much
J.D. They can both be so mean | vote
Ted: I'm not what you call a winner... sure I'm a lawyer but that's only becaus I took the bar exam in Alaska and they only have like four laws and most of them are when you can and cannot kill... seals. | vote

Scrubs Recap: "My New Role"

The first of two back-to-back new episode of Scrubs last night, "My New Role," focused on Dr. Cox adjusting as the new Chief of Medicine.

Cox as Chief of Medicine

Dr. Cox had to deal with J.D.'s requests to let his patient stay longer, Carla trying to get him to hire more nurses, and The Janitor messing with him.  Who else could Dr. Cox turn to in his time of need? Well, his new friend Bob Kelso, of course!

There were also plenty of sideplots you can read about in our "My New Role" recap.

Mr. Hogan: Well, who can say no to 49-cent cheeseburgers?
Carla: Sure, but tack on the cost of medicine, your room, and pumping your stomach, and that 49-cent cheeseburger is gonna run you in the neighborhood of thirteen hundred dollars.
Mr. Hogan: Heh. See, that's how they get you
