Bound
The Secret Circle Season 1 Episode 2 (09/22/11)
Recap
It was all about binding the circle on The Secret Circle this week, something Diana pushed for and Faye resisted because it meant limiting each person's power, while making the group stronger.
But Faye was finally convinced after her strength almost killed another student. She realized the coven must police itself somehow. The episode therefore ended with the group standing around a fire and being bound.
Elsewhere:
- Adam helped to convince Cassie that this was the right move. There are obvious sparks between these two, like they are destined to be together, something Diana senses and asks Adam about. He says he loves her.
- The biggest development involved Henry, a third generation witch and the father-in-law of Dawn. He came back and he learned that Charles had used magic, even though that generation had its power banned after the mysterious boat accident of 16 years ago. Henry then witnessed Dawn also using magic, via a crystal of some kind, to save the student Faye almost killed. He demanded the crystal.
Dawn responded by making him have a heart attack and telling Faye he went back home.

From the two episodes I've caught of The Secret Circle, I think it shows much promise and potential. But it also risks alienation from would be loyal fans should it continue to move at its current snail's pace.
The show is plodding on. The writers must realise this and do something about it, rather than let it chug along. The plot is also painfully predictable; the bulb scene, the romance...
Some actors, even after two episodes, have not been utilised until you wonder what their roles are, in all this - for now, they're rather like aimless gophers.
And what's with Cassie running in and out of a room every two seconds?
Buck up writers. You are on the right track, but you need more fodder to beef up your plots and make it meatier, also tighter editing, maybe?
Good luck with the show, with a bit of tweaking, you could have a longer run like The Vampire Diaries or Supernatural. If you don't make these changes, chances are, you could end up like The Gates, which I though was quite goo
