Recap

The Midseason Finale picks up right where we left off last week with Ichabod and Abbie on their way to Fredericks Manor.

However, that's easier said than done as an apocalyptic thunderstorm shorts out their vehicle's electrical system. At the nearest garage our heroes decide to hop on a motorcycle. "No electronics, just good old fashioned machinery" Abbie says.

When they finally arrive at Fredericks Manor, they find the house abandoned. Henry's miniature city model is left behind and our duo soon realizes the locations he's attacked form a pentagram. All part of Moloch's evil plan.

Katrina screams out from the rear of the house, apparently they were not alone after all. Ichabod sees the Headless Horseman preparing to perform the binding ritual. Obviously he can not let this ritual take place, so he uses the Sword of Methuselah to subdue the Horseman.

By extending the power of her necklace's enchantment Katrina allows everyone present to see Abraham. The villain warns our heroes that using the sword comes at a price. "The moment a man uses the sword to kill, his soul and hence his life will be taken with it" Abraham tells them.

Armed with this devastating knowledge, the team decides that only one person can wield the Sword of Methuselah. Captain Irving's soul already belongs to the Horseman of War, therefore the sword can not claim his life. Frank agrees to the plan as his soul is compromised either way.

The Headless Horseman is interrogated, and he reveals that Moloch and Henry are at the four white trees. However, the trees and the forest have taken on a darker hue. "War and Moloch have begun to merge purgatory and this world. With each tree that is burned black more evil may enter" the Horseman warns.

Before making another move, our heroes must arm themselves so they seek out their old friend Hawley. He provides several powerful weapons and is left in charge of watching over the Horseman.

As they approach the four trees, Moloch's demon army attacks. Everyone fights well, including Katrina who uses her magic to take down her enemies. The Horseman of War and Captain Irving battle to the death. Using Methuselah's sword, Irving destroys the Horseman. However, he is mortally wounded in the fight. Fueled with rage at the loss of Irving, Abbie decides she must destroy Moloch once and for all.

Elsewhere, Henry is feeling vulnerable due to the loss of his armor. Moloch doesn't share his concern and orders his servant to bring the witch to him. Killing Katrina will allow the final tree to burn ushering in the end of days.

Henry does as he's told and brings the demons enemies to him. However, when Moloch mockingly tells him that neither Abraham nor he mean a thing to him, he strikes his master down with the Sword of Methuselah.
