When you watch Switched at Birth Season 4 Episode 1 online you will see how far a sister will go to protect her sibling. Bay deals with the fallout from taking the blame for Daphne's crime and goes to Emmett to tell him her plan. She tells him not to worry and that after she is done with probation she will be able to go to California to be with him. Unfortunately things take a turn for the worse when Bay makes the dumb decision to help out an inmates "sister" by helping her deliver what Bay thinks is just lunch. It is found out that the sandwich that she delivered has heroin in it and Bay could be convicted as an accessory to a crime. Thankfully her probation officer gets her off with added probation; her sentence is now 100 days as opposed to the 45 days she was initially given. This throws a wrench in Bay and Emmett's plan; Emmett wants to stay and be with Bay, but Melody convinces Emmett that he can't stay behind and let this opportunity pass him by. It was with a heavy heart that he went to Bay and they decided to part ways without actually breaking up; they decide that they will be togther, but it will just take a little longer.
