Last night's episode of The Bachelor defied comprehension, even after 13 seasons of watching this crap. A few highlights and observations before we give you the rundown:

1. Some of these girls are seriously insane, catty, backstabbing b!tches, even by the high standards set forth by this program from 2002-present.
2. Jason Mesnick may actually be getting hotter each episode.
3. The girl we believe to be the winner certainly held her own.
4. A chick actually puked from anxiety - yet got a rose anyway!

Will Melissa Rycroft be the winner of Jason Mesnick's heart on The Bachelor? We have reason to believe she will, and not just because she's one of the final 12 and we're feeling lucky.

A recap of The Bachelor cannot commence without making three important points:

1. Jason Mesnick shirtless, and preferably filmed in slow motion, is pretty much guaranteed to make every episode of the reality show a success!
2. Can anyone stop Molly from Michigan? We're thinking not!
3. Some of these girls are straight-up pathetic. That's all.

For hunky Seattle single father Jason Mesnick, a twice-in-a-lifetime opportunity - to find a life partner on an ABC reality TV show - officially commenced last night.

With 25 women throwing themselves at him and some unexpected twists in store, this 13th season of The Bachelor promises to be the most entertaining yet.

Whether Jason Mesnick will actually become the first of 13 stars to walk down the aisle with his chosen bride from the show (he is engaged) remains to be seen.

Ahh, how nice to have The Bachelor back. Think Jason can make it 1-for-13?

Jason Mesnick, who won America's hearts last summer on The Bachelorette, only to be spurned by DeAnna Pappas, says he's now engaged - and we will get to see it all unfold when he returns as the star of The Bachelor on January 5.

Hopefully Jason Mesnick can break the quote-unquote Bachelor curse ... which is less of a curse than a straightforward, seven-year run of bad relationships.

The Bachelor has yet to produce an actual marriage, although Charlie O'Connell and Sarah Brice are back together after splitting up awhile back, and Byron Velvick is still technically engaged to that crazy chick who beats his ass sometimes.

Trista Sutter (formerly Trista Rehn) was turned down on the finale of The Bachelor before starring on The Bachelorette and marrying Ryan Sutter. So far, Trista is the only success story from either show after DeAnna and Jesse Csincsak's breakup.

We're pulling for you, Jason Mesnick!

Just a few months after DeAnna Pappas rejected him on The Bachelorette finale in favor of Jesse Csincsak - who she dumped this week, oddly enough - Jason Mesnick is runnin' it back on reality TV as the next star of ABC's The Bachelor.

A two-hour premiere kicks off the show's 13th season January 5.
