A young girl goes missing during the early stages of a category four hurricane, and when Walter sees the story on the news, he can’t help but attempt to find her despite the dangerous conditions. When it becomes clear he won’t make it past the front door, he reverts to enlisting the help of stranded patrons at The Ends of the Earth to help him do it.

It becomes clear that Melissa Welling was the victim of a school bully named Renee, and at the breaking point, purchased a gun to scare her victimizer. In the end, Walter manages to track them both down before one of them ended up dead.
