When two security guards are murdered during a jewelry robbery, the FBI investigates but Patrick Jane must do so from the sidelines when he comes down with a horrible cold. But even bundled up in a blanket from his sofa, Jane tries to help as he walks Lisbon through the act of pretending to be a psychic medium in order to catch their killer.

Abbott tells Cho to bring Vega with him into the field. He knows what she did was wrong but he believes she's reformable. Vega is eager to earn back Cho's trust but has no idea how to go about doing so.

Agent Abbott is thrilled when his wife, Lena is offered the job of Under Secretary to the Dept. of Commerce but things get complicated when his past in a task force that targeted a drug cartel threatens her confirmation. The only advice he's given is to stay in Texas while she goes to Washington D.C. so that it appears they are separated and perhaps there will be less quesitons concerning Abbott's past. Lena isn't the least bit happy about the plan.
