Simon Baker is happy, "really happy," the star of The Mentalist told TV Guide during a recent set visit by that publication.

During the interview, the actor said he doesn't wanna "touch" the show, in terms of changing the dynamic that has led The Mentalist to the top of television's ratings.

Among the series storylines that will therefore remain the same, Baker confirmed:

• Red John, the killer, won't be caught for awhile;
• The series will not depart from its format, in which almost every case is resolved within one episode;
• Baker's dynamic with Robin Tunney, who plays straight woman to his wild card, will remain the same.

Sexual tension emanates around Lisbon and Jane on The Mentalist.

So asks a TV Guide reader of Senior Editor Mickey O'Connor. The expert took these inquiries to show creator Bruno Heller.

In order to build suspense on the highly-rated new drama, Heller simply said no, there are no plans for either of these questions to be answered in the affirmative. At least not for a very long time.

Might sparks soon be flying on The Mentalist?

According to Amanda Righetti, a bit of romance may finally be on the way for her character, Grace, and Wayne (Owain Yeoman):

"We don't know for sure yet, but they're toying with the idea. They're going back and forth."

Television's new top-rated series returns from its holiday hiatus with a new episode this week.

The latest installment of The Mentalist is titled "Red John's Friends" and it features a convicted killer that swears he can locate Red John for Jane.

Tim Kang portrays straight-shooting, straight-arrow investigator Kimball Cho on The Mentalist.

In a recent interview with TV Guide, the actor gave fans a sneak peek into the future of his character. Here are excerpts from it:

What's coming up next for Cho?
We don't know a whole lot about this guy. He's up for getting the job done, and that's it. It's all about the work. In upcoming episodes, there will be more flavoring of the character, and some things we don't know about this character will be revealed.

In what direction will the character be flavored? Will he be more romantic? Less ethical?
That generalizes it too much. As we're learning and getting scripts, the characters are getting more layered. To answer your question in one way will do a disservice to what he could become. We are going to learn that there are lighter moments to this character; he's not always such a hard-ass.

On next week's all-new episode of The Mentalist, Patrick Jane's past comes back to haunt him.

November 18: Patrick Jane and company investigate the murder of a casino owner.

November 25: It's pretend psychic vs. pretend psychic! The Mentalist hopes to expose a quasi-seer.

The Mentalist has received a full-season order. Already.

The Simon Baker drama has averaged 16.14 million viewers so far and is the fall's top-rated new series in total viewers.

This week's episode even knocked off the Dancing with the Stars result show, earning 14.86 million viewers to 14.37 million.

Overall, The Mentalist is the third freshman series to receive a season pick-up, following 90210 and Fringe.
