Andy's parents threw his brother a garden party for getting a promotion, so the Nard Dog decides to do the same for himself in order to impress both his parents and Robert California.

Dwight hosts the party, so Jim writes a book on garden parties and sells it to Dwight so that he will do ridiculous things.  Antics included screaming out guests names as they arrived, as well as performing courtly dances, living portraits, and a closing ceremony of fire.

Most of the Dunder Mifflin employees spend the day sucking up to Robert California, while Andy spends it being looked down on by his dad.  All of his attempts to make his father proud fail, but his employees are all there to pick him up at the end of the day with a cheeseburger and some laughs.
