Hayley and Jackson continue to travel out of the bayou but Hayley is uncomfortable with what running will teach Hope. She knows that running now will mean running forever and she cannot see that being a reasonable life for a little girl. She and Jackson decide to travel to Alaska to put down roots but they don't make it that far. Klaus has other plans for them and they are devastating.

Klaus uses compulsion to make Marcel his minion once again and uses Gia to crush Elijah's spirit. Elijah will make him pay for that. Rebekah, however, manages to figure out what it is Klaus wants from her, and it isn't her death. She enacts that plan, much to Marcel's dismay.

Davina is sworn in as Regent of the covens after standing up to them when they chide Vincent regarding her youth and lack of allegiance. Their opinion is swayed when she points out the fact that she is the only one of them who has ever defeated Klaus.
