Bart helps save an injured pigeon that Santa's Little Helper ends up eating. Bart becomes depressed and angry at the dog and the family goes to give away Helper to an Ostrich farm. When they get there, Bart is forced to kill an ostrich to defend his life. After killing a bird himself, he forgives Santa's Little Helper.
