Coming to The United States of Tara: Advice for Marshall

Following that awkward one-armed guy hug last week on The United States of Tara, it appears as though Marshall and Jason are over.

This Sunday, on a new episode of the Showtime series, Marshall receives some inspired wisdom from his sister.

Kate and Marshall

According to E! Online, on the occasion of his heartbreak, Kate tells her little brother:

"If you take a pill to make everything better, then you never know when things are f--ked up, and if you don't know when things are f--ked up, then you can't fix it yourself."

Amen, girlfriend!

The United States of Tara: In Search of a New Producer

Despite its critical success, The United States of Tara will soon be in need of a new executive producer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alexa Junge is leaving the Showtime series, which was just renewed for a second season.

The comedy was created by Oscar-winner Diablo Cody and chronicles the family life of a woman with schizophrenia (Toni Collette).

The United States of Tara Spoilers: Advice for Max, Marshall

On last week's episode of The United States of Tara, viewers met urinating fourth alter.

How will husband Max react to this news? According to E! Online, he'll turn to Tara's therapist for advice.

This professional actually assures Max that the "poncho goblin," as Max calls Tara's new personality, may be a huge step in helping hsi wife discover why she developed disassociative identity disorder in the first place. That's promising.

Meanwhile, Marshall will turn to Kate for some sisterly advice when he still can't determine if his crush Jason is gay or not.

Coming Soon: Another State of Tara

We hope Alice, Buck and "T" are ready to make a new friend.

The three personalities displayed by Toni Collette's character on The United States of Tara are about to greet a fourth.

Chug!

Series creator Diablo Cody told E! Online that "there may be other alters," though it's since been confirmed that another side to Tara is definitely on the way.

Network sources say to look for "big reveal at the end of this next episode." Reportedly, it will be impossible to miss.

The United States of Tara: Season Two on the Way!

Toni Collette and all four of her character's personalities will return for a second season of The United States of Tara.

Robert Greenblatt, Showtime president of entertainment, released the following statement, regarding this decision:

"It has been pure pleasure working with Diablo Cody, Toni Collette, Steven Spielberg and everyone at Dreamworks on [the show]. This is a perfect fit for our premium brand and we're thrilled that critics and audiences have responded to this groundbreaking show so well.  I look forward to many more alternate personalities emerging from this unique series.”

The United States of Tara Spoilers: Mural Madness!

The United States of Tara is officially a hit for Showtime.

With that in mind, Kristin Dos Santos of E! Online recently answered a fan's question, regarding a future show storyline. To paraphrase the spoiler:

Since Tara has been working on that mural for her sister's friend Tiffany, she's becoming good friends with her, up until the point where Tiffany forces an appearance by one of Tara's alters. This won't be a good idea, and the mural suffers the consequences.

The United States of Tara Premieres to Solid Ratings

So far, so very good for The United States of Tara.

The series' premiere episode was seen by more than 2.5 million people last week, delivering better ratings than Dexter, Weeds, The Tudors and Californication on their opening nights.

The United States of Tara Picture

The numbers should only climb this Sunday, as Tony Hale appears as Marshall's English teacher.

Oh yes, that's the same guy that played on Buster Bluth Arrested Development.
