The United States of Tara: Season Two on the Way!

Toni Collette and all four of her character's personalities will return for a second season of The United States of Tara.

Robert Greenblatt, Showtime president of entertainment, released the following statement, regarding this decision:

"It has been pure pleasure working with Diablo Cody, Toni Collette, Steven Spielberg and everyone at Dreamworks on [the show]. This is a perfect fit for our premium brand and we're thrilled that critics and audiences have responded to this groundbreaking show so well.  I look forward to many more alternate personalities emerging from this unique series.”

The United States of Tara Spoilers: Mural Madness!

The United States of Tara is officially a hit for Showtime.

With that in mind, Kristin Dos Santos of E! Online recently answered a fan's question, regarding a future show storyline. To paraphrase the spoiler:

Since Tara has been working on that mural for her sister's friend Tiffany, she's becoming good friends with her, up until the point where Tiffany forces an appearance by one of Tara's alters. This won't be a good idea, and the mural suffers the consequences.

So far, so very good for The United States of Tara.

The series' premiere episode was seen by more than 2.5 million people last week, delivering better ratings than Dexter, Weeds, The Tudors and Californication on their opening nights.
