I think there is a good few options of Elaina's attacker; Katherine (obviously), Damon, Alaric (the new teacher I think he might be a vamp.) or Tyler they did a close up on a shot with him an the moon. If you go by what happens in the books they could each be a threat.
Alaric seems difficult to read he has a old looking "ring." He told Jenna about him coming to Fells Church for a new start and that his wife was killed. I think he could have had a run in with Vamps. either they killed his wife an made him a vamp. or he killed his wife because he is a vamp. If you go by the Alaric character in the book he is a college student with an interest for vamps. he is also dating Elaina's best friend Meredith but she isn't in the show!

I am so sad. I want to know who the "shadowy figure" is that Elana sees. This is the only show I watch on a weekly basis. I want it back. Although we know nothing is going to happen to the star of the show, I am so eager to see what will happen next with Elana and Stephan. Rumor has it that Damon is trying to find a way to resurrect Katherine...we shall see.

coincidentally the last episode turning point aired the night before new moon was being released. maybe they wanted some time for new moon craze to die down before the next one besides the christmas break

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series! Im sooo dissapointed that we have to wait that long though. Someone already said this but they are NOT having a season finale...its just a winter break. OMG I absolutley love love love elena and I cant chose between the salvatore brothers because they are both awesome(especially Damon but Elena should be with stefan). The whole cast is basically amazing. Im scared that whoever was standing on the road with play with Elena's mind because she took off the neckelace. I hope they have a whole bunch of seasons in mind cause i cant get enough of this!!! :)

I honestly have got to say that its so retated that we have to wait till January 14th until the next episode most shows go off that long like this one tv show i watch it goes off the week b4 thanksgiving and doesnt come back on until the monday after new years day but thats retarted what the vampire diaries do. okay, you guys are so dumb. Every SINGLE! tv show will go on a break during its season. There are 22 episodes in most tv seasons. From September (when most season premieres are maybe even October) to May (when their season finale is, also maybe june) there are NOT 22 weeks for the show to run. theres way more. So they have to put shows on "a winter break" for a while. Also because actors get the holidays off so their not making anymore episodes for a few weeks. So stop calling it the "season finale" cuz its not.

Very disappointed we have to wait so long for the next episode. Torchwood did this to it's fans also. People will start watching something else and forget how much they loved this show. Fans can be fickle, don't take us for granted.

I think the reason why they have a break is because like all the other television series they are having their fall finale..... when it starts up again it will be a "new season". Hope that helps a bit!

I LOVE the series, but compared to the books....they are TOO different. I just consider them two different stories. I believe the book is better though. A lot more action in the books and it explains things differently. I still love the series though! :D

Outraged and disappointed that we now have to wait two weeks to see what happens to Elena and who the new teacher really is! Wish they'd make up their mind on when they want to view the show, because me and my roomate look forward to it every week sadly enough. But we love it lol.
