On this episode of The Walking Dead…

Daryl is upset when he learns of Rick’s decision to cast out Carol.

Those sick from the flu are recovering.

The Governor convinces his group of survivors that they need to take over the prison in order to live. He plans on using his hostages, Hershel and Michonne, to get what he wants without violence.

Rick returns to his leadership role and tries to convince the Governor they can live together peacefully, something Hershel tried earlier. Rick says that anyone can change.

The Governor calls Rick a liar and cuts Hershel’s head off.

War wages between the two bands of survivors. The Governor fights Rick, but Michonne stabs him. Lily shoots him while he is lying in the grass dying.

Rick and Carl find Judith’s bloody baby seat.

The prison is destroyed.

The survivors are separated: Daryl and Beth; Maggie, Sasha and Bob; Tyreese and the little girls; Glenn and the bus of survivors; Michonne; and Rick and Carl.
