Recap

Y&R Prologue

Kay and Cane meet with a rep from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, investigating the building collapse. They are relieved to hear that substandard materials were not the cause of this tragedy.

Part One

In his office, Neil advises David there is no evidence a bomb was to blame for the Clear Springs disaster and says some of the buildings did survive and are usable. Jack and Victor watch a TV report that claims the collapse was due to a natural gas leak and that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) may lose millions.

Part Two

Later, Neil admits he oversaw everything for Victor and there was no connection with Victor's actions
. Victor reads the report and faces an angry Jack who blames him for the deaths. Cane (Daniel Goddard) makes a call to let the crew know what happened and agrees with Kay who vows to sue Victor and claims this is due to Victor's desire to get even with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott).

Part Three

David explains to Nikki that the explosion was due to "methane drilling" taking place some seven miles away from the construction site. She runs to confront Victor who has learned that it was a defective gas monitor that resulted in the explosion. Nikki hopes he's not to blame but he orders her to get out. Neil (Kristoff St. John) updates Victor that everything he was asked to do was done correctly. Nick asks his dad about the drilling.

Y&R Epilogue

Cane stops by the hospital and tells J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) about the gas. Victor checks on his daughter and tells them they are still investigating. Visiting with a comatose Victoria (Amelia Heinle), Nick assures his father that he knows he didn't mean to hurt anyone.
