Things began this week in Los Angeles where Sarah Newlin takes a yoga class.
Pam tells Eric how she searched the world over for him. She tells him how she felt the loss of Tara the night before. She urges him to fight and not give up. She mentions the name Sylvie and we are flashed back to 1986 in the same house Eric now rests in. He is in a relationship with a woman there. Pam is also there and the two are paid a visit by Nan of the Authority. She tells them they need to fall in line and not make waves for the corporation bringing True Blood to market.
Eric tells Nan to get lost, in so many words. Pam begs him to leave town, but he wants to remain with Sylvie.
Alcide comes downstairs from his shower to find Sookie missing. He tracks her to Bill's house, but the two of them are already on the road. Sookie devises a dangerous plan to take down the H-Vamps, even as Vince and his armed vigilantes pose an equally serious threat. When Sam and his vampire Matt run into their road block, Matt is killed and Sam barely escapes.
Lafayette gets high with James. James lets him in on his troubles with Jessica. Jason meanwhile mentions having a family to Violet who tells him to man up and be a warrior. At the reverend's house, Willa is forced to find a new place to stay when her invitation is rescinded.
Back to the 1980's Eric is surprised by assasins sent by the True Blood corporation. To make their point, they make his choose between Pam and Sylvie. He chooses Pam and Sylvie is killed. Both Eric and Pam are taken away in silver.
In present day, Eric tells Pam to leave and let him die. In one last effort to rally her maker, she mentions that Sarah Newlin was spared by Jason. Eric rallies and is set on finding her. Back in Los Angeles, Sarah Newlin and the yogi are in bed together. When she gets up to get some wine, her guru is visited by the same man who killed Sylvie years ago.
Sookie's plan backfires and Alcide is killed in the process. Jessica offers to turn him, but she says she has already been down that road before.
