Sookie figures out the link between the string of killings in Bon Temps and figures it's Rene, but only after she's left alone with him in a car.  Sam comes in dog form to rescue her, but it's actually Sookie who ends up killing Rene in self defense.  Bill, meanwhile, tempts fate and goes out in sunlight to try and rescue Sookie but collapses in near death.  Sam helps Sookie bury Bill in dirt and he lives through it.

Meanwhile, Tara makes the most of her situation with Maryann and meets a cute boy, Eggs there.

Jason finds a new calling with the Fellowship of the Sun after they come to visit him in prison.  Jason is let go when they figure out Rene is the murderer.

Lafayette gets attacked by Vampires while taking out the trash.

Sam does not seem happy to see Maryann again.
