True Blood Interview with Michelle Forbes

We're learning more and more about what Maryann is capable of on True Blood after last Sunday's episode.  Now we can finally learn what her character's intentions.

In the following excerpt from an interview with TV Guide, Michelle Forbes, who plays Maryann, reveals her character's goals and a big reveal.

TVGuide.com: So if her goal is pleasure or ecstasy, why is she also violent?
Forbes: Maryann lives in a different moral construct than the rest of us. Tenderness, violence — they're the same to her. The more that somebody is feeling alive and in their adrenaline and feeding that appetite for what we're not supposed to do, the more that they're in what she considers purity. That is her life blood; that is her excitement.

Maryann Does Her Thing

All those things that people hold themselves back from — food, sex, booze, drugs — she wants to push people into their vices, their purity, their ecstasy. That's what she considers happiness. It's not a nefarious or villainous thing in her mind. She wants everyone to feel the same glory and joy that she feels. She wants everyone to join the party.

TVGuide.com: In one scene, we see that Maryann can vibrate and will Sam to shape-shift. So why, in the flashback scene, does she vibrate when they're having sex? Was she trying to have sex with a dog?
Forbes: That is a season-revealer, so I can't say anything. That's a really important scene; people will be going back to that scene when they see the entire season.

You can read the rest of the interview at TV Guide and then discuss in our True Blood forum what you think that scene means to the show.

To find out what else happens, just read the following official logline from HBO for next week's episode, "Never Let Me Go."

In Dallas, Sookie connects with one of her own, then joins Bill and Eric for a strategic summit at the lair of the missing vampire, Godric, attended by his lieutenants, Stan and Isabel. Meanwhile, Jason shows his mettle at a Light of Day boot camp, and is rewarded for his hard work with a gift from Sarah. Rebuffed by Tara in her relocation efforts, Maryann decides to cast her spell on the staff of Merlotte’s, softening Tara up towards her new "family." Eric shares a little-known secret about his past with Bill, and Sookie makes a decision that might solve the Godric mystery -- or get her killed.

Sookie Gets Off the Plane

Bill [to Hoyt]: Are you going to leave or am I going to have to throw you out a window that is closed?
Sookie: That is just rude | permalink
Eric: The vampires here, they're like cowboys. If they don't get Godric back they'll want justice. They'll start attacking people.
Bill: Open aggression against humans? That's insane.
Eric: Well, it's Texas | permalink

With True Blood having taken a week off this past Sunday, viewers are clamoring for any nuggets of information on the show they can get.

And we've got a couple of major ones!

First, star Ryan Kwanten confirmed to E! News that his character of Jason Stackhouse and sister Sookie won't be separated forever. The actor (pictured) said:

"There will be [a reunion between the Stackhouse siblings] and quite an electric one, too, where we gang up for the greater good."

As for the most mysterious, biggest badass of all vampires, fans wanna know when they'll meet Godric. The answer: soon!

Played by Allan Hyde, Godric appears in the July 19 episode. He'll be joined by lieutenants Stan and Isabel, the second of whom is portrayed by Valerie Cruz. She said:

"Isabel runs with the Dallas vampires, but she kind of becomes friends with both Bill and Eric. And she likes Sookie. [Isabel] has a penchant for humans, and she's sensitive to this love story they have."

Eggs Benedict Talley Has a Secret

As loyal True Blood viewers know, Tara has a new boyfriend.

Played by Mechad Brooks, this character's unusual name is Eggs Benedict Talley. But is he too good to be true? In a nutshell: yes.

As Rutina Wesley (Tara) told TV Guide Magazine, her new man has a secret. It's old, it's dark and it will soon be revealed.

"I'm curious to know if it freaks her out,” Wesley said to columnist William Keck. “With everything else going on in Louisiana, she'll probably be like, 'I like you, whatever...'"

True Blood Spoilers: "Shake and Fingerpop"

Last week's episode, "Scratches," ended with Bill and Sookie agreeing to go to Dallas to carry out Eric's vampire investigation mission.  Turns out when they arrive at the airport, there's going to be a surprise waiting for them, during next week's episode, "Shake and Fingerpop."

According to E! Online, Bill, Sookie and Jessica will find someone from the Fellowship of the Sum was sent to abduct Sookie.  Big surprise but when you have two vampire guardians, that plan fails.

Then, as you might have seen in the previews, Eric ends up outside Lafayette's home, unable to come in until he's invited.  Well it turns out Lafayette will actually invite him in and feed off his blood in order to recover from the wounds he suffered while being held prisoner by Eric.  Yeah, weird relationship guys.

Bill: I remember when ladies clothing stores sold petticoats.
Sookie: That's so weird.
Bill: Actually I sort of miss my times. Clothes left something to the imagination and required a certain skill to get past.
Sookie: I think there's a Halloween store around here that sells them.
Bill: You're such a tease | permalink
Eric: You surprise me. That's rare in a breather.
Sookie: You disgust me.
Eric: Perhaps I'll grow on you.
Sookie: I'd prefer cancer | permalink
