Jason, Sam and Tara

True Blood Season One Quotes

HBO's True Blood took the cable networks by storm with its first season, far surpassing the network and audiences' expectations for the show.

During the first season we saw Bill and Sookie fall in love as they attempted to solve the mystery of the serial killings of women around Bon Temps, while trying to clear Sookie's brother, Jason's name.

Along the way, we were treated to some great True Blood quotes that poked fun at a lot of the Vampire conventions we come to know and expect.

Here's just some of our favorite quotes from the incredible first season.

Tara [tending bar]: Uh-oh do... do not snap at me. I have a name. And that name is Tara. Isn't that funny a black girl being named after a plantation. No I don't think it's funny at all. In fact it really pisses me off that my momma was either stupid or just plain mean. Which is why you better be nice if you plan on getting a drink tonight.

Bill: Can I ask you a personal question?
Sookie: Bill, you were just licking blood outta my head. I don't think it gets much more personal than that | permalink
Sam: Sookie, you have no future with a vampire!
Sookie: They don't die. I've got nothing but a future with one | permalink

Bill and Sookie

Sookie: Wait a minute. I thought you're supposed to be invisible in the mirror.
Bill: We started many of the mysteries about ourselves centuries ago.
Sookie: What about holy water?
Bill: It's just water.
Sookie: Crucifixes?
Bill: Geometry.
Sookie: Garlic?
Bill: It's irritating. That's pretty much it. | permalink
Sookie: I've been admiring your necklace all day.
Amy: Oh, thanks. It's a lariat. I made it.
Sookie: You make jewelry?
Amy: Easy way to earn extra money. I can make you one if you want.
Sookie: Thanks, but I don't think my boyfriend much likes silver | permalink
Sam [about Bill]: Can't you see what he's like? How can you even think about being with him?
Sookie: Sam, my living room is wrecked! I've got a killer, a vampire and a shapeshifter on my plate. Right about now I'm not thinkin' about being with anybody! | permalink

True Blood Spoilers: Lafayette's Release

After Lafayette's unsucessful escape plan on Sunday's True Blood, fans want to know when their favorite manwhore / drug-dealer will escape from Eric's dungeon.

According to E! Online, on this upcoming Sunday's episode, "Scratches," when Sookie discovers that Eric has been imprisoning Lafayette, she's going to do what it takes to get him free.

In fact, Sookie will agree to go on Eric's adventure to Dallas to find the missing vampire, Godric.  Luckily, Bill and Jessica join for a full fledged road trip.

Also appearing next week is the new creature we saw in the season two sneak peek released in April.  The creature has a bull head, a half animal / half human body, gnarly claws, and is poisonous.

When the creature attacks Sookie, it's going to take both Bill and Eric to rescue her.  Oh and did we mention that we'll soon find out it was this creature that murdered Ms. Jeanette?

True Blood Recap: "Keep This Party Going"

True Blood's second episode of the season episode of the season definitely picked up the action and drama compared to the first episode.  The episode was divided into six separate storylines, but somehow covered each of them in just one hour.

The primary plotlines included Sookie taking Jessica to see her family, Maryann charming the patrons of Merlotte's, Lafayette attempting to escape, and Jason going to the leadership camp.

Jason the Hero

However, there was so much more to the episode you can catch up on in our detailed "Keep This Party Going" recap.

Now for our favorite of the True Blood quotes of the night:

Sookie: Another first
Bill: How do you mean?
Sookie: We've never had make up sex before
Bill: How does it compare to "you thought I was dead" sex?
Sookie: That was pretty great too, but I wouldn't want to have to go through that again | permalink

True Blood Spoilers: The Future of Lafayette

Indeed, Lafayette is alive!

While True Blood fans were surprised by this development last week, no one was more shocked than the actor that portrays this character, Nelsan Ellis.

As for the rest of this season, Ellis gave TV Guide a sneak peek. He said Lafayette's fate will be closely tied with that of the vampires. However, their relationship won't always be adversarial.

"[Lafayette] stays with the vampires basically throughout the season," he told the magazine. "I guess how deep down the rabbit hole he goes with Eric is the biggest teaser I can give. Eric makes people beholden to him. He did it to Sookie, and now he does force Lafayette to work for him to repay him for something he's done for him."

Wait, is Lafayette gonna become a vampire? Not any time soon, added Ellis.

"I have a sneaking suspicion that, in the future, the vampires are going to learn to respect him and not mess with him. He's going to find a way to elevate his position with them. Lafayette is a survivor, so he's not going to stay in this scared state too long."

True Blood Spoiler, Episode Summary: Bill and Sookie Head to Dallas

The major storyline news regarding True Blood this season: Lafayette is still alive… for now.

As for other upcoming developments on the HBO drama, nothing is more revealing than official episode summaries released by the network. We've gotten our hands on the detailed description for the July 12 installment, titled “Shake and Fingerpop."

Stop reading now if you don't wanna learn about Bill and Sookie's future mission...

Bill Holds Sookie

With Jessica in tow, Bill and Sookie head to Dallas to carry out Eric’s vampire-reconnaissance mission -- but a surprise awaits them at the airport. At the Light of Day Institute, Jason falls victim to a practical joke, but has the last laugh when the Newlins anoint him for a higher calling.

Maryann throws Tara a birthday party at Sookie’s, attracting much of Bon Temps to its Bacchanalian revelry. Sam postpones his departure from town to attend the bash, connecting with Daphne in the process. Having barely escaped Fangtasia, Lafayette finds himself reluctantly pulled back into Eric’s orbit.

True Blood Spoilers: "Keep This Party Going"

If you loved the first episode of True Blood's second season as much as we did, you won't believe what's in store for us next week.

Luckily you don't have to wait all the way until Sunday to find out what happens in "Keep This Party Going."

According to Ausiello Files, Bill's young vampire, Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll), is going to miss her family and is not adjusting to being a vampire very well.  She convinces Sookie to drive her to her parents' house just o "look" at her family.

Bill and Jessica

However, when she gets there, Jessica attempts to kill her own father, until Bill swoops in to save the day as usual.  Bill's a little pissed off at Sookie, but nothing a little makeup sex won't solve.

Also, we will be finding out more about Tara's new love interest, Eggs (Mehcad Brooks).  We'll find out about the time he spent in prison for drugs, armed robbery and assault.

Meanwhile, Lafayette asks Eric to turn him into a vampire.  However, Ausiello's favorite scene involves Sam turning into his dog form.

True Blood Interview with Nelsan Ellis

If you have not watched last night's True Blood season two premiere, stop reading now!  For those of you who have seen the episode, we have an excerpt from Ausiello's interview with Nelsan Ellis.

Fans who have already seen the episode know that Lafayette (Ellis) lived after his cliffhanger possible death after season one.  Find out what Ellis had to say and even a little bonus spoiler for you.

When you first signed on to the show, did Alan Ball assure you he would not be following the books when it came to this character?
NELSAN ELLIS: No, no no. When I first started it was only a one-year contract, so I thought I was a goner after the 12th episode. In fact, [Alan] didn’t tell me that he was bringing me back until after the table read for [the season 1 finale]. He was like, “You know we’re not killing you, right?" And I was like, “I didn’t know but thanks for telling me."

Did he explain to you why he let Lafayette survive?
ELLIS: Not really. He just said he decided after the bar scene in [the pilot], but he didn’t tell me until the 12th episode. He didn’t really go into any detail as to why he decided to keep me -- not to me anyway.

Lafayette from True Blood

How will the experience of being locked in a dungeon and almost dying change Lafayette this season?
ELLIS: It certainly humbles him. It shows him there are some situations he just can’t get himself out of no matter how slick he is. He's going to have to suffer the consequences of what he’s done. And I think he reflects back on his behavior and maybe for a second thinks about changing.

In an upcoming episode [SPOILER ALERT], Lafayette ingests a lot of Eric’s blood. The homoeroticism in that moment was off the charts. Was that something you were conscious of while shooting it?
ELLIS: I wasn’t. I know Alexander said that from his standpoint he thinks Eric is a little drawn to Lafayette. My intentions were that I was completely terrified of Eric and what he can do to me. As far as I know, I hated his guts. It’s funny what the camera picks up... Alan has been making jokes about me and Eric and what’s to come in the third season. I definitely think I’ll be one of his henchmen, but as far down the rabbit hole as that goes, I don’t know.

You can read the rest of the interview at Ausiello Files.

True Blood Recap: "Nothing But the Blood"

Last night was the season two premiere of True Blood and if you have not seen the episode, stop reading this post immediately.  Okay, now we can go crazy with True Blood spoilers.

The episode opens with the big reveal that answers last season's cliffhanger... Lafeyette lives!  The body inside the back of Andy's car was Miss Janette's.

Eggs and Tara Flirt

From there, the focus was on the investigation of her death with Tara being the chief suspect of a drunken Andy.  Find out everything that happened in our "Nothing But the Blood" recap.

Anna Paquin: True Blood is Not Twilight

True Blood and Twilight.  They're both about vampires.  They both star a good looking cast.  It's easy for people to feel compelled to compared the two.

However, True Blood's star, Anna Paquin, feels the shows are very different and don't warrant such comparisons.  Paquin told E! Online: "They're completely different age groups that they're trying to appeal to."

Bill Holds Sookie

Paquin continues: "It wouldn't be appropriate for teenagers to be watching our show. I wouldn't have been allowed to."

Given the ridiculous nudity and sexual themes in the show, we'd agree.

Apparently things are only going to get sexier as Paquin says: "I get more naked this season than I did last season.  We have a really great crew and everyone's really respectful. It's not an issue for me."

So how does Paquin stay in shape for the nudity?
