Ryan is trying to get his life back together, but Wilfred won't allow it. The dog tries to get him to keep smoking weed, and switches his respectable date with an alcoholic loose woman.
Ryan is followed by Bruce, a man who claims can see Wilfred for what he is, and had his life ruined by the dog. He explains that Wilfred will ruin Ryan's life too, so he should take him out to the middle of nowhere and leave him there.
Ryan takes Bruce's advice, but Wilfred figures out what's going on at the last minute. Bruce shows up and attempts to kill Wilfred, but Ryan shoots Bruce instead. It turned out there were only blanks in the gun, as Wilfred had set the whole thing up to test his friend Ryan. Ryan passed because he picked Wilfred.
