11 TV Teens Who Definitely Aren't Teens Anymore

It's so hard to be a teenager.
It's even harder to be a teenager when an actor, well into their '20s or '30s, is still tapping into those angsty teen emotions.
We get it.
A lot of TV studios cast actors who are older than the characters they play.
But what about those actors who've ended up playing a teenager for several seasons of television?
Here are just a few TV teens who are actually well-past high school.
1. Stefan Salvatore - The Vampire Diaries
Paul Wesley has been playing Stefan Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries for 8 years. While Stefan is eternally 17, Wesley himself is in his '30s.
2. Scott McCall - Teen Wolf
Teen Wolf, you say? Tyler Posey, who's played teenage werewolf Scott since the beginning of the series, is actually 25.
3. Spencer Hastings - Pretty Little Liars
The lying teens may have had a recent time jump into the future, but prior to that, Troian Bellisario was a woman in her thirties playing a high school student!
4. Matty McKibben - Awkward.
Matty might look like he's ready for senior year. In reality, Beau Mirchoff is in his late twenties. We're thinking this might be the real awkward part.
5. Caroline Forbes - The Vampire Diaries
Caroline is the loveliest immortal 17 year old girl on The Vampire Diaries. It's almost too easy to forget that in real-life, Candace King is in her late '20s.
6. Daphne Vasquez - Switched at Birth
So you think that Daphne is only 18? Oh no, no, no. A quick internet search reveals that Katie Leclerc, who's been starring on the Freeform series since 2011, is actually turning 30 later this year.
7. Brandon Foster - The Fosters
Believe it or not, while David Lambert looks like a fresh-faced, clean shaven teenager, he's not really a kid at all: he'll actually be turning 25 this year.
8. Clary Fray - Shadowhunters
Clary Fray is 18...or so they say. Katherine McNamara, who brings the fiesty, demon-hunting heroine to life, is in her early '20s.
9. Maya Martinez - East Los High
While it's true that Alicia Sixtos definitely looks like a teen, it turns out she's far from it. She's in her late '20s, believe it or not!
10. Bellamy Blake - The 100
This one might be considered cheating, as his character is 23 and not a teen, but truth be told Bob Morley, who plays Bellamy, is in his early '30s, still quite an age gap from his character on The 100.
11. The Entire Cast of Wet Hot American Summer: First Day at Camp
The cast members of First Day at Camp were already too old to play teens when they first appeared as camp counselors in the original film back in 2001. When they came back together 15 years later to reprise their roles for the Netflix series, it was clear that they were still way too old, but that was really all part of the joke.
