2013-2014 Season Finale Awards: And the Winners Are...

at .  Updated at .

The 2013-2014 season has come to an end.

We hand out some hardware in this season finale award gallery.

1. HARDEST GOODBYE

We know it was coming before Grey's Anatomy Season 10 even started. But that didn't make Cristina Yang's farewell much easier to take.

2. MOST ROMANTIC

As Patrick Jane realized that Teresa Lisbon was really going to go off to D.C. with her new boyfriend, he pulled out all the stops. He even faked a murder investigation to get her to stay. When that blew up in his face, there was only one thing left to do: Board a plane and declare his love for her in front of everyone before TSA dragged him away. Turned out honesty was the best policy as season 6 ended with the couple's first romantic kiss.

3. MOST SHOCKING DEATH

Aidan on Revenge. Even though I expected this, HOW it took place that was shocking. Not only did Victoria drug him and then smother poor Aidan with a pillow, she went through the trouble of posing his body on Emily's sofa. With that, Victoria Grayson went from cold hearted bitch to murderous monster.

4. WORST EPISODE

From unbelievable farce, (how does a detective whose been through a minimum of two background checks, NYPD and the AG's office, not know she's married?) to a non-wedding... and finally a cliched cliffhanger. After "Veritas," the amazing episode that came before this, "For Better or Worse" was simply... worse.

5. LAMEST NON-DEATH

Damon Salvatore. Julie Plec is already on record as saying Ian Somerhalder will be sticking around. So Damon may end up in some non-vampire form, but he'll remain a big part of the series - and pretending to kill off a central character is a sad way to garner attention and ratings.

6. MOST UNEXPECTED TIME JUMP

Parks and Recreation. Wait... Leslie and Ben's twins are already toddlers? What... we'll start Season 7 three years into the future?!? Did. Not. See. That. Coming.

7. MOST SURPRISINGLY SAD MOMENT

Klaus Mikaelson giving away his baby. Who would have thought this evil hybrid could reduce viewers to tears by the sight of, and then departure of, his child? At least there's still Hope for a happy ending.

8. LEAST SURPRISINGLY SAD MOMENT

NCIS honored the late Ralpe Waite on its season finale. We knew it would be doing so ahead of time. We still cried.

9. MOST SCANDALOUS MANEUVER

Rowan Pope schemed to give a teenager meningitis. Your move, all other villains on television.

10. BEST USE OF FROZEN

Else is coming to Once Upon a Time Season 4!

11. MOST HATED ON

How I Met Your Mother. We're still not ready to talk about it.

12. LEAST CARED ABOUT

Sorry, Glee. We really did love you once. But fewer than two million people tuned in for the finale. Is there really another full season of this series remaining?

13. BEST ACTION SEQUENCE

To Arrow for well choreographed fight scenes that successfully wove two different time periods into one sequence, while also involving all major characters without suffering a major casualty.

14. BIGGEST SHOCKER

So Bones took Booth's promotion to the field office in Germany and turned it into a setup in front of Congress, where our hero was instead questioned for his patriotism and set up to be killed due to his past as a sniper in the army. We did not see that development coming. Bring on the final season!

15. BEST CLIFFHANGER

It was an uneven season for Justified. But no series better set itself up for its subsequent run than this FX drama, as Ava agreed to turn on Boyd and viewers readied themselves for the final Boyd-Raylan showdown.

16. BEST OVERALL EPISODE

The Americans. It tied up one plot (Nina/Stan). It stunned with the resolution to another (Jared? Really?!?). And it left us reeling for what might happen on Season 3 (will Phillip and Elizabeth turn their Paige?!?). Amazing season. Outstanding ending.
