2014 Summer Premiere Calendar

This is a behemoth list of summer shows, both new and returning, for the summer of 2014.

There is little chance you won't find something to watch!

1. In the Flesh, BBCA, Saturday, May 10

If you're missing The Walking Dead, you can check out this British import for a zombie fix. The dead have been reintegrated with society, but it’s not like Resurrection. It's thought provoking and gory. Best of both worlds!

2. Penny Dreadful, Showtime, Sunday, May 11

A period mash-up of such familiar characters as Dr. Victor Frankenstein, Mina Murray, and Dorian Grey, you see old characters in a completely new way. I dare you not to fall in love with at least one monster. Addictive and nightmare-inducing, in the best possible way.

3. Gang Related, Fox, Tuesday, May 20

Centers on an elite drug task force where with a detective who pledged his allegiance in the past to one of the gangs he's now responsible for bringing down giving him insight nobody else has.

4. Motive, ABC, Wednesday, May 21

Returning for a second season, turning crime drama formula on its head, both the killer and the victim are introduced at the start of each episode and they mystery is solved through flashbacks as the detectives investigate.

5. Labyrinth, The CW, Thursday, May 22

This two part series features Downton Abbey star Jessica Brown Findlay as one of two girls in the quest for the holy grail – one in medieval and the other in modern day France.

6. Crossbones, NBC, Friday, May 30

In 1729 barbarous pirate Blackbeard (John Malkovich) reigns over a rogue nation of thieves, outlaws and miscreants. In this word, you can never be sure who is the villain and who is the hero.

7. The Night Shift, NBC, Tuesday, May 27

Adrenaline junkie T.C. Callahan, after a grueling tour of duty in the Middle East, now leads the night shift in the ER of a San Antonio Memorial.

8. Halt and Catch Fire, AMC, Sunday, June 1

Lee Pace stars in this period drama set against the backdrop of IBM's meteoric rise in the personal computing business during the 1980s.

9. Beauty and the Beast, The CW, Monday, June 2

Vincent is arrested and Cat worried that he'll get a death sentence with Season 2B premieres on June 2. Will they be going on the run?

10. Longmire, A&E, Monday, June 2

In season 3 Walt finds himself reeling from a series of devastating traumas when Henry is going to prison on murder charges. Deputy Branch Connally has been shot by a mysterious "white warrior," and Vic Moretti is unsure if she has shaken a stalker from her past.

11. Mistresses, ABC, Monday, June 2

According to an executive producer, Season 2 "is all about our ladies pushing the limits, testing their boundaries and discovering just how far they are willing to go for love." For some of them it's very far, and there will be a bunch of new characters introduced.

12. Orange Is the New Black, Netflix, Friday, June 6

Season 2 returns so we can all lose ourselves in prison for the weekend while we find out how Piper got out of her jam with Pennsatucky and learns about all kinds of other new stressors within the walls of Litchfield.

13. Major Crimes, TNT Monday, June 9

Major Crimes Season 3 returns with all new episodes of your favorite major crimes squad!

14. Murder in the First, TNT, Monday, June 9

The upcoming drama stars Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson as homicide detectives investigating two seemingly unrelated murders. But the mystery expands when the duo realizes that both murders have a common denominator.

15. Chasing Life, ABC Family, Tuesday, June 10

Right after a promotion and signs that her romantic life is going in the right direction April learns she has cancer. It's not something that brings her down. "When it chooses you, you fight. What other choice do you have?" The series was previously given a full season order of 20 episodes.

16. Pretty Little Liars, ABC Family, Tuesday, June 10

Who shot Ezra? Be prepared to find out what he has to say when Pretty Little Liars Season 5 premieres and he whispers in Aria's ear.

17. Royal Pains, USA, Tuesday June 10

The Season 6 premiere of Royal Pains picks up after nine months. Divya has her baby, Jeremiah is running HankMed and Evan and Paige have worked on their marriage. Hank's been roaming the world with Boris – so what's next? Watch to find out.

18. Suits, USA, Wednesday, June 11

On the Season 4 premiere we’ll find out what Suits is like when Mike and Harvey are no longer working together. Can the series survive with Mike as Harvey’s client? Word on the street is it's a hell of a shakeup and worth every minute!

19. Graceland, USA, Wednesday, June 11

Expect a lot of change when Graceland premieres as this merry band of ruthless undercover agents will be working for Mike. Hang on for an exciting ride!

20. True Blood, HBO, Sunday, June 15

When True Blood returns for its seventh and final season, the government has let its citizens down and Hep-V afflicted zombie vampires have taken over. Find out how it all ends this June!

21. Switched At Birth, ABC Family, Monday, June 15

Season 3B starts just after Bay slept with Emmett and Tank de-pledged his fraternity to make things right with her. Talk about bad timing!

22. The Fosters, ABC Family, Monday, June 15

Season 2 premieres with a bit of a reset for Brandon. He decides to pursue his music and settle down a bit before thinking of girls for a while.

23. Rizzoli & Isles, TNT, Tuesday, June 17

When Season 5 premieres you can expect deeper stories not only in terms of the crimes investigated but by way of the personal lives of Jane and Maura.

24. Perception, TNT, Tuesday, June 17

Eric McCormack will be back as the kooky doctor when Perception Season 3 premieres on June 17.

25. Defiance, Syfy, Thursday, June 19

Linda Hamilton (of Terminator fame) joins Defiance for its second season as the estranged wife of Rafe. For anything else, you'll just have to join us and watch!

26. Dominion, Syfy, Thursday, June 19

If you enjoy the angels raging on Supernatural maybe you'll enjoy Dominion, based upon the 2010 movie of the same name. War is coming as heaven raises hell.

27. Rectify, Sundance, Thursday, June 19

Season 2 finds newly released death-row inmate Daniel Holden moving past his initial unease in an environment he no longer understands and trying to take control of his own destiny.

28. Falling Skies, TNT Sunday, June 22

When Season 4 premieres, Pope may finally get a love interest in Sara (guest star Mira Sorvino), a ballsy, brash woman with a complicated past and a lot of secrets.

29. The Last Ship, TNT, Sunday, June 22

Their mission is simple: Find a cure. Stop the virus. Save the world. Starring Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy), when a global pandemic wipes out eighty percent of the planet's population, the crew of a lone naval destroyer must find a way to pull humanity from the brink of extinction.

30. Teen Wolf, MTV, Monday, June 23

What's coming up on Teen Wolf? A were-jaguar (Aunt Kate), complications from Malia with regard to romance and with her father Peter Hale. What else? Be back here June 23rd to find out!

31. Covert Affairs, USA, Tuesday, June 24

On the season premiere titled "Shady Lane" Annie and Augie will be considering their future while Calder and Joan learn the identity of the new DCS.

32. Reckless, CBS, Sunday, June 28

Reckless is a sultry legal show set in South Carolina where a gorgeous Yankee litigator and a Southern City Attorney struggle to hide their attraction while clashing over a police sex scandal.

33. The Leftovers, HBO, Sunday, June 29

Lost's Damon Lindelof brings us HBO's highly anticipated new drama following what happens to a small suburban community in the wake of a global Rapture, when 2% of the world's population simply disappears in the blink of an eye.

34. Under the Dome, CBS, Monday, June 30

There will be two deaths on the Season 2 premiere of Under the Dome and the actress who plays Sheriff Linda was just cast in an ABC pilot. Hmmm. Let the speculation begin!

35. The Strain, FX, July

An odd viral outbreak pointing toward an ancient and evil strain of vampirism? In Manhattan? Gory high-stakes battles between humanity and the undead? Yeah, we're in.

36. Extant, CBS, Wednesday July 9

A star-studded limited series by Steven Spielberg with Halle Berry as a female astronaut who returns home from a 13 month solo flight – pregnant. Whoops! How did she get pregnant and what is she carrying? Watch to find out.
