21 Things We Know About the Gilmore Girls Return

at .  Updated at .

Ever since the news initially broke back in October of the Gilmore Girls Netflix Revival, rumors have been swirling around with everything from casting speculation to storyline speculation.

Now that Netflix has officially confirmed "Gilmore Girls: Seasons" (tentative title) the casting news and interviews are pouring in like a lovely coffee fueled flood!

With so much information out there, we thought it best to catalog everything that we know about "Seasons" for our most loyal of Gilmore Girls TV Fanatics!

Grab your cup of coffee, put on your Luke's Diner t-shirt, and let's dive into everything we know about the Netflix revival of Gilmore Girls!

1. Seasons

The revival at Netflix will tentatively be called, "Gilmore Girls: Seasons" and each of the four 90-minute movie-sodes will focus on a different season in a calendar year, beginning with Winter and ending with Fall. This could be a nod to the singer behind the famous Gilmore Girls theme song, "Where You Lead," Carole King. She has another hit song called, "You've Got a Friend," which houses the lyrics, "Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall, all you have to do is call and I'll be there. You've got a friend."

2. Sookie Will Be Absent

Melissa McCarthy tweeted earlier this month that she was not asked to return back to Stars Hollow, so chances of seeing our favorite chef and BFF Sookie are quite slim. However, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino confirmed in an interview with Michael Ausiello that she has reached out to McCarthy's people for any time that McCarthy might be available. She does go on to say though that Sookie's absence will be addressed and explained. We hope this doesn't mean we won't see Jackson either!

3. Rory's Big 3 Are ALL Returning!

Dean, Jess, and Logan are all making a return appearance in Rory's life during the year of Gilmore Girls: Seasons and we couldn't be happier. While no episode count has been announced for Matt Czuchry or Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia said in an interview with Michael Ausiello that he would appear in, "more than two, but less than four," which leads us to believe he'll be in THREE of the installments! Could Rory and Jess finally get some closure on their rocky romance? We've got our fingers crossed!

4. Rory is Single...Technically

Despite the appearances of all of Rory's former loves, Amy Sherman-Palladino teased in an interview with TV Line that Rory is single when Gilmore Girls: Seasons picks up. "She’s…. single in the sense that she’s not married. But she’s dating like any young woman with that face would be."

5. Paris and Doyle Are Making a Comeback

This photo, tweeted by Danny Strong, shows our favorite Yale couple reunited on the set of Gilmore Girls: Seasons. Kelly Bishop (who plays Gilmore matriarch Emily,) said in an interview with TV Line, "It's unbelievable what Amy has written for Paris." So let's take bets! Are Paris and Doyle married? What are they doing now? Besides being amazing, of course.

6. A Bunheads Crossover

While it's not known whether or not Sutton Foster will be reviving her role as Michelle from Amy Sherman-Palladino's other small town universe show, Bunheads, it has been confirmed that Foster is headed to Stars Hollow. We think she'd make an excellent stand in BFF for Lorelai in Sookie's absence! What do you think TV Fanatics?

7. Michel is Still Behind the Desk at The Dragonfly

In the first photo tweeted by a cast member, Yanic Truesdale and Lauren Graham snapped an awesome selfie revealing that our favorite sarcastic French concierge is back in action, and that the Dragonfly Inn still looks fantastic, 8 years later. (And that Lorelai is still smokin' hot!)

8. A Manic Emily Gilmore

In an recent interview with TV Line, Kelly Bishop discussed Emily's current mental state after the loss of her husband, Richard, a story that will be addressed head on in Gilmore Girls: Seasons. Bishop said that, "[Emily] blows between right on the edge of losing it to almost being a little manic." Translation: You will need a box of tissues handy.

9. Paul Anka is Still Woofing

The REAL Paula Anka? No silly, the DOG Paula Anka! In probably the weirdest news that we got excited about, Lorelai and Rory's very weird dog, Paul Anka, will be making a comeback! Is anyone else surprised that the dog Paula Anka would still be alive eight years later? Lorelai is nortoriously bad with pets! We can't wait to hear the updated list of everything he's afraid of!

10. Paul, Jim, and Damon

According to a recent casting notice sent out, Gilmore Girls: Seasons is looking to cast the role of, "Paul" who is described as, "A Michael Cera-type. A good boyfriend." Jim, an "older high-end men's magazine editor" and Damon, a "good-looking eager twenty something." Let's start speculating! Are any of these men connected to Rory Gilmore? Is she dating one, or all of them, when the series starts? And why not just try and cast Michael Cera himself? Who do we call to make that happen?

11. Will Mrs. Kim Dissaprove?

While Keiko Agena's return to Stars Hollow was announced right away, we had to wait a bit longer to discover that we'd also get an appearance by Emily Kuroda, the woman behind Mrs. Kim. With Kwon and Steve now around 8 years old, will they be learning Bible stories from their grandmother, or will they be rocking out with Lane and Zack?

12. All Four Scripts Are Written

All four scripts are finished, and in the posession of the cast and crew. (This is a photo from Milo Ventimiglia's twitter of one of his own scripts.) Which means the final four words are finally out there. We know it's an exchange between Rory and Lorelai, but still don't know what the words are exactly.

13. Storylines Have Already Been Altered

In an interview with Michael Ausiello, Amy Sherman-Palladino discussed budgetary struggles involving the storyline between Rory and one of her former boyfriends. "Certain storylines — one of which involved one of the boys — had been taken out of our hands." Re-writes are very common in Hollywood, but we can't help but wonder what the original story was, who it involved, and why it was too expensive!

14. Daddy's Home

David Sutcliffe confirmed the return of Rory's dad Christopher to Gilmore Girls: Seasons. This isn't a huge surprise. Of course Rory's dad would be around. But we do wonder whether or not Amy Sherman-Palladino will tackle Lorelai and Christopher's failed marriage, a storyline that she did not write for Season 7 of Gilmore Girls.

15. Brace Yourselves... April's Returning

When fans heard the news of Vanessa Marano returning to Stars Hollow, many groaned. After a lot of thought, we think it's great news, actually. Eight years have gone by, which means April is a young adult now and could possibly fuel a few great stories on her own with her dad, Luke. We know that Vanessa Marano has grown up to be a lovely actress, so we're hoping to see a new side of April this time around.

16. Resolution for Emily and Lorelai

Lauren Graham has said that, "There’s definitely some resolution that we didn’t get [at the end of the series’ original run]," in her interview with TV Line about the Netflix revival, with regard to Lorelai's always complicated relationship with her mother, Emily. Perhaps Richard's death will bring these two closer together?

17. A Liz-less Stars Hollow?

On the heels of Melissa McCarthy's tweet regarding not being asked to return, Kathleen Wilhoite, the actress who played Liz Danes, Luke's sister and Jess' mother, stated in a tweet of her own that she was also not asked to return, hinting at some tension behind the scenes. This news leaves us sad, as we can't imagine not seeing Liz, TJ, and Doula. Maybe they're stuck in es-ker-oh?

18. Old Townies, Meet New Townies

GilmoreNews.com reported that script pages revealed the returns of all of our favorite townies from Miss Patty to Babette to Gypsy and Taylor. But casting calls have also gone out looking for some possible new townies as well, namely Berta and Alejandro, a Peruvian couple, and Nat Compton, a miserable man who never smiles.

19. A 2016 Release

When Netflix announced Gilmore Girls: Seasons with this photo, it's captioned, "From Stars Hollow to Hartford to New Haven to Netflix. Welcome back, girls. An all new season of Gilmore Girls coming to Netflix in 2016." That means before the year's end, we'll have devoured every installment. Oy, with the poodles already!

20. No Gilmore Girls Netflix Binge Sessions?

If Amy Sherman-Palladino had her way, the four movie-sodes of Gilmore Girls: Seasons would NOT be released all at once, as is Netflix's usual way. She said in an interview with TV Line that she is still discussing releasing the episodes separately with Netflix, though no word has been officially released on this one way or another as of now.

21. Kirk, Kirk, and More Kirk

Thanks goodness Stars Hollow isn't a Kirk-less town eight years later! Sean Gunn is confirmed to appear in Gilmore Girls: Seasons. While his storyline is unknown, we sincerely hope that he's a dad, helping his kids have an array of jobs in each episode! Imagine him supervising Girl Scout Cookie sales for his daughter? Or guilting the citizens of Stars Hollow into buying lemonade from his son's lemonade stand? Or maybe he's got a family lawn mowing or snow shoveling business. The possibilites for Kirk as a dad are endless!

Gilmore Girls Quotes

Lorelai: Hi, Mom.
Emily: Lorelai, my goodness, this is a surprise. Is it Easter already?
Lorelai: (sounding uncomfortable) No, I just, uh, finished up my business class and I thought I would stop by.
Emily: To see me?
Lorelai: Yes.
Emily: Well, isn't that nice. Come in.
Lorelai: Thanks.
(They walk to the living room.)
Lorelai: The place looks great.
Emily: It hasn't changed.
Lorelai: Well, there you go. How are the girls at the bridge club?
Emily: Old.
Lorelai: Well... good.
(Lorelai and Emily sit, opposite to each other)
Emily: You said you were taking a business class?
Lorelai: Yeah, mmhmm, yeah. I'm taking a business class at the college twice a week. I'm sure I told you.
Emily: Well, if you're sure then you must have. (she pauses) Would you like some tea?
Lorelai: I would love some coffee.
Richard: (calling from another room) Emily? I'm home.
Emily: We're in here.
(Richard walks into the living room)
Lorelai: Hi, Dad.
Richard: What is it, Christmas already?

Lorelai: (speaking to Luke) Wow, you look nice. Really nice.
Luke: I had a meeting earlier at the bank. They like collars. You look nice, too.
Lorelai: I had a flagellation to go to.
Luke: So, what'll you have?
Lorelai: Coffee, in a vat.
Rory: I'll have coffee also. And chili fries.
Luke: That's quite a refined palate you got there.
(Luke walks to the counter)
Lorelai: (to Rory) Behold the healing powers of a bath.
