at .  Updated at .

These are the TV Fanatic staff picks for best romances of 2014!

1. Jo and Alex -- Grey's Anatomy

Jolex from Grey's Anatomy! Seriously, I can feel my heart melt every time those two are on the screen. I can't wait until Alex proposes again for real!

2. Adam and Kristina -- Parenthood

I'm going to go with Adam and Kristina Braverman. The couple has had their share of ups and downs, most recently with Kristina's battle with cancer, but they always find time for the other to vent, feel sexy, and throw eggs when necessary.

3. Kevin and Jenny -- Castle

Kevin and Jenny Ryan, Castle. Ryan and his wife Jenny have faced their battles, including difficulty conceiving a child and facing one of Ryan's past romantic entanglements. But one of their most emotional, tear-jerking moments came in Castle Season 6 Episode 11, when Ryan and his partner Esposito were trapped in a burning building with little to no hope of escape. Ryan managed to exchange a heart-wrenching phone call with his wife, who was in labor. Everything is made that much sweeter when Ryan and Espo are rescued at the last minute, and Jenny is able to tearfully introduce her husband to his new baby daughter, Sarah Grace.

4. Caroline and Stefan -- The Vampire Diaries

It might not be a full-fledged romance just yet, but the slow burn is enough to whet the appetite. After all this time, it's refreshing to think Stefan might finally move on from Elena and fall in love with someone else, especially someone as feisty as Caroline. Their growing friendship has always been one of the best parts of TVD and to finally see that transition into more would be quite satisfying.

5. Olivia Pope and... Olivia Pope -- Scandal

Oliva Pope and...Olivia Pope! In the mid-season finale she pulled the ultimate Kelly Taylor move of Beverly Hills 90210 and chose herself. She wants Vermont with Fitz and to stand in the sun with Jake and she's not going to make herself choose right now. So us spoiled viewers can watch both romances play out!

6. Mindy and Danny -- The Mindy Project

Mindy and Danny -- After 2 seasons of sexual tensions an Aaliyah secret santa dance and finally a kiss on the plane back from Cali, Danny and Mindy have made it official. It hasn't always been easy with Danny's inappropriately close relationship his mother and OCD issues paired with Mindy's total disregard for boundaries and high maintenance tendencies, but man have they made it worth it. Perfect blend of comedic drama and love. Danny writing Mindy a recommendation for the fellowship was the icing on the cake.

7. Sam and Andy -- Rookie Blue

Sam and Andy from Rookie Blue. These two have had a rocky past but this year Sam was finally able to break down his walls and truly be honest with the woman he's loved for so long. It's not easy to get someone like Sam Swarek to say I love you or watch The Bachelorette, but Andy has his heart and watching the happiness the two share now has been well worth the wait.

8. Ben and Leslie -- Parks and Recreation

Ben and Leslie -- Parks and Rec. Ben and Leslie are an adorable, quirky, rock solid couple who are always there for each other. They're always supportive no matter what challenges come their way. This year they were in for quite a surprise when Leslie became pregnant with triplets! These two get each other completely and it's the little things they do that make it clear just how perfect they are together.

9. Cam and Mitch -- Modern Family

Cam and Mitch on Modern Family may not be traditionally lovey-dovey with each other, but they love, accept and support each other in so many ways. Laughter is key, and their ability to laugh with and at each other, always coming out better from their experiences makes them a perfect couple.

10. Jane and Rafael -- Jane the Virgin

Jane and Rafael. It was fate that two people who kissed five years before, found themselves in an crazy situation. Jane the Virgin was inseminated with Rafael's sperm, and after some flirtation, a broken engagement, and marriage, Jane and Rafael shared a passionate kiss and the rest (for now) is history.

11. Snow and Charming -- Once Upon a Time

Snow and Charming. Let's start with the fact that these two actually share one heart. But, it started with a stolen jewelry bag, and now 30-some odd years later, they have a grown daughter, an infant son, and are still in love like they were at the beginning. This year they traveled realms, cast a curse, ran a town, and helped defeat a witch, all while preparing and having a baby. Fate was almost changed, too, but no matter what, you knew: Snow White and Prince Charming belong together.

12. Jim and Maggie -- The Newsroom

Even though it took them until the end of the series to get together, the love story between Jim and Maggie on The Newsroom has been wonderful to watch. They make each other better, and they understand each other like no one else can. Of course, it's a shame we won't get to see their relationship play out, but we did see the perfect kiss on that airplane-- finally!

13. Taystee and Poussey -- Orange is the New Black

Taystee and Poussey Washington from Orange is the New Black. Although it's unrequieted on Taystee's side, Season 2 can be read as a love story between these two convicts. It's clear that they have something special between them.

14. Booth and Brennan -- Bones

Booth and Brennan on Bones! These two have been through hell and back together, and they are still going strong. They work together as partners and as parents, they respect each other's differences, and they are always willing to learn from one another.

15. Castle and Beckett -- Castle

Rick Castle and Kate Beckett - From the moment they met, he was infatuated with her and she could barely tolerate him. Fans of the couple have had to endure misunderstandings, miscommunication, significant others and a bullet to Beckett's chest but the night Kate showed up on Castle's doorstep soaked from the rain and telling him "I just want you" it was all worth it. Their wedding day took longer to get here than we expected but the vows were perfectly Caskett. We can't wait to see more of these partners in life and in crime who make one another extraordinary.

16. Patrick and Teresa -- The Mentalist

Patrick Jane was decimated after his wife and daughter were murdered by sadistic serial killer Red John. He spent most of the next decade determined to get his revenge and along the way was paired with CBI Agent Teresa Lisbon. Neither one of them was looking for romance but six seasons later, Red John was dead and the healing had begun. By the time Patrick found the courage to tell Teresa that he loved her she was engaged to another man. Thankfully Teresa followed her heart, allowing fans to enjoy their romance in the final but best season of The Mentalist.

17. Claire and Jamie -- Outlander

It only took being swept back in time to 1743 for Claire Randall to meet her future (or is it past?) husband. Claire and Jamie Fraser's courtship is the stuff of romance novels with a little time-travel thrown in. Being a stranger in a strange land and with her life threatened at every turn, Jamie becomes the one man Claire can completely trust. Let's face it, as written by Diana Gabaldon, Scottish warrior Jamie is "mister right" in 1743 or any time period for that matter. Claire sure is one lucky Sassenach!

18. Hayley and Elijah -- The Originals

After first meeting due to Hayley being the baby momma of Klaus, these two slowly started to fall for each other. Despite Hayley being wolf royalty and later becoming a vampire-wolf hybrid and Elijah being an original vampire these two still got under each others skin. Not to mention, Hayley is the mother of Elijah's brother's miracle baby. Their love was consummated in the last episode of the first half of the season and will hopefully put a kink in Hayley's practical marriage plans to her male wolf royalty counterpart. Their love is a long shot, but it is hard not to root for them!
