Veteran actor Brian McNamara is a native of Long Island, New York.
To this day he is probably best known for his portrayal of Dean Karny in the TV Movie Billionaire Boys Club, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a supporting role.
He had lead roles in numerous films including Arachnophobia. Brian's TV guest roles include such popular series as Seinfeld, NYPD Blue, St. Elsewhere, JAG, The OC, Star Trek: Voyager, Mad About You, Matlock, Ellen, Murder, She Wrote, Murphy Brown, and even The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
One of his earliest roles was as Greg, Alex Keaton's friend who is killed in a car accident in the 1987 Family Ties episode "A, My Name Is Alex" for which the writer won an Emmy.
He has a starring role in the film Tillamook Treasure (2006), in which he plays Robert Kimbell, the father of the 14-year-old main character Julie, played by Suzanne Marie Doyon.
Brian McNamara has a starring role as Brigadier General Michael Holden on Army Wives.
