Maurice Benard was born as Mauricio Jose Morales on March 1, 1963. This veteran actor is proud of his Nicaraguan and Salvadoran background.
He began his career in daytime television as Nico Kelly on All My Children, a role he portrayed from 1987-1989. Since then, Benard has been primarily known for playing Michael "Sonny" Corinthos, Jr. on General Hospital. It's a role he's enjoyed since 1993.
In 2003, Maurice won a Daytime Emmy Award for this work.
