If this is the last season of 24, the long-running Fox hit is pulling out all the guest-starring stops.

Freddie Prince Jr. and Katee Sackhoff are both coming on board the drama, playing key roles at the new, New York-based CTU.

Sackhoff spoke to Sci-Fi Wire this week about her role as Dana Walsh. A few excerpts from the interview...

Walsh is Chloe's boss: "Dana is permanently happy," the actress said. "I think that also pisses Chloe off, because Dana's like, 'Oh, no, it's totally fine that you don't get it. Let me help you. It's great. I'll do that. It's fine. You don't need to figure it out, because I'm good enough to do both our jobs.' So that really pisses Chloe off."

Something happens at CTU... but Sackhoff can't reveal any 24 spoilers: "I don't know if anyone thinks that's actually a big secret,'" she joked "Could you imagine? So this is a 24 episode, and the whole season is just about nothing. No controversy, nobody dies, nobody gets beat up, Jack Bauer doesn't do anything. He might not even show up, and for 24 hours that would just be what it is. Could you imagine?"

When 24 returns for its eighth season this January, Emmy winner Cherry Jones will still occupy the Oval Office as President Alison Taylor.

But there will be no First Gentleman to speak off, following Taylor's falling out with her husband last season because she ratted out the couple's corrupt daughter.

“I’m not married anymore,” Cherry told TV Guide Magazine. “I am the first woman and divorcée in the White House.”

There will be a brief discussion of the divided Taylor clan when season eight debuts, but then it's on to the issue of world peace, Jones said.

That should be a challenge, with villains such as Callum Keith Rennie causing serious global problems.

When 24 returns in January, Annie Wershing says her character of Renee Walker will be "pretty damaged."

As for Katee Sackhoff's Dana Walsh, who debuts on the show's upcoming eighth season? The actress spoke on this character to E! News.

"I play Dana Walsh, the head data analyst for CTU, and she's engaged to Cole Ortiz (Freddie Prinze Jr.). She's got a shady little past, and we'll see how that affects her," the actress said, adding:

"It's the same usual 24. They're used to having new characters coming in. There's so many new castmembers this year that if it is the last year, they'll go out with a bang."

If it's the last year, let's also hope Jack Bauer dies at the conclusion of the season. It's the only proper way to end 24.
