We already know that a new character named Teddy is coming to 90210 next season.
But is a recent interview with E! News, Shenae Grimes said another newcomer was coming to West Beverly:
A darker Annie Wilson.
As viewers saw at the end of season one, there's a storm brewing inside this character. Grimes says it will be explored in more detailed this fall.
"My producer sat me down and was like, 'Shenae, there is just some sort of intensity behind your eyes. We've got to bring it out somehow.' I was like, 'All right! Cool! Better challenge for me. I get to stir up trouble at work, awesome.'"
As previously reported, Ethan is out on 90210 and Teddy is in.
Wait... who?!?
TV Guide has described the new 90210 character as a former West Beverly student with a George Clooney-like charm. In our show forum, fans are speculating that this is the individual in the car that pulled up behind Annie's hit-and-run scene to close last season.
The original 90210 cast, in the very first network-produced poster.
Now, we're come across the following casting notice. It goes into great detail about this mysterious new character:
Male, 18 or older to play high school. Gorgeous, smart, athletic, easy going GOLDEN BOY....he should be Ralph Lauren style handsome with natural confidence and a sense of humor. Teddy is West Beverly's very own JFK, Jr. Teddy has the uncanny ability to make any girl feel like she's the most beautiful woman in the room. This, however, is not a dating ploy.
Everything about Teddy is genuine and sincere. Affable and good-natured, Teddy is the guy everyone wants around. He possesses the much needed effervescence in an otherwise teen angst filled world. He's modest, but confident sptv050769. And comfortable speaking his mind. He carries himself with an ease that not so surprisingly leads the world to open up for him. Athletic - surfing and tennis experience a plus. MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR.
As dedicated 90210 fans know, Dustin Milligan will not be returning to the show as Ethan next season.
While Matt Lanter was brought aboard, in the role of Liam, to help offset that loss, it looks like 90210 is still looking to add to its cast.
TV Guide reports that the show is seeking a new recurring character. He'll be named Teddy and is billed by The CW as a tennis champion; the son of a famous movie star; and a returning student to West Beverly.
Teddy's charm is described by the publication as "Clooney-esque." Interesting.
90210 is saying goodbye to Ethan... and hello to Teddy?
So... who is Teddy? Might he be the individual behind the wheel of that bumper-stickered Mercedes that witnessed Annie's hit and run? Or even the guy she ran over to close season one?
Chime in now on our 90210 forum!
Unlike Beverly Hills, 90210, the new version on The CW will not air new episodes in June or July.
However, when the series returns in the fall, 90210 won't just feature a few scenes from the characters' summer breaks; it will showcase them at the same location where Steve Sanders played volleyball and Kelly Taylor so often sunbathed.
That's right: 90210 producers are bringing back the Beverly Hills Beach Club!
A series rep told Access Hollywood that the club will become a hangout for Annie, Silver and company, just as it was back in the day for original cast members.
(Might Dixon get a job here, following in Brandon's hard-working footsteps yet again, as he has at The Peach Pit? We'd bet on it).
The second season of 90210 begins production later this month.
We're still months away from season two of 90210.
But the following poster reveals one of the earliest looks at the show's slightly revamped cast, as it heads into the fall of 2009.
As most fans know by now, there are two significant changes on the way:

90210 spoiler alert: Read no further if you haven't watched last night's season finale yet!
Based on how the first season of this CW hit ended - Silver got to first base with Ethan?!? Annie may have killed someone?!? - the show has a lot of questions to answer in the fall.
While star Jessica Stroup hasn't seen any future scripts, she does have a lot to say about what may be in store next year in Beverly Hills. She shared some of it with E! News...
On future of Silver/Dixon: I know that next year is going to start with a whole fresh start. The whole season is going to be different. Some storylines might just evolve and disappear, or just reappear. Ethan and Dixon, although they only met this past year and this is a brand-new friendship for them, they still became really good friends.
It was never Ethan's intention to ruin that relationship. It just happened. He couldn't deny what his feelings are for her after letting them flourish while watching her at the prom. I'm curious to see where Ethan goes and what path they choose to take for him.
On the consequences of Annie's hit-and-run: Of course it's going to change Annie inevitably. She's going to be a totally different character. As awful as it is with drunk driving, and playing that character was hard for Shenae, but I think she plays that really well. She has a whole other depth to her, a whole other side. I think next year is going to be amazing for her because she's going to go through a lot of changes with this character and down some really, really dark roads.
I hope, at least, that it affects every one of us. I know that it's going to affect all the characters, but I hope it brings us back together at some point as a whole group. I really want that whole bonding. Besides Ethan who's going to be leaving obviously, I love playing that group bond. At some point next season, you're really going to start to see it all coming together, with us becoming stronger as a whole.
Who do you think Annie hit with her car? A stranger, or someone viewers know well?
