Balthazar Getty Angling For Brothers & Sisters Return

Tommy Walker was a key character on Brothers & Sisters until the end of last season, when he went off the deep end professionally and would up in seclusion in Mexico.

This somewhat strange plot development coincided with actor Balthazar Getty falling out of favor, supposedly, with the show's cast and crew, amid personal drama.

Getty was never taken off the show's credits, however, and we just saw Tommy make a surprise appearance two episodes ago, only to bolt for Seattle at the end.

What is up with this guy?

According to TV Guide, the once-embattled star is looking to have his full-time, series-regular status restored next season and is in talks with ABC to make it so.

“That’s what we’re talking about,” Getty said from the set, where - spoiler alert - he's making another cameo for Justin and Rebecca’s December 6 wedding episode.

“I’ve made some suggestions, and they’re working out what’s best for the show. At the end of the year, everybody will sit down. I’ve made a commitment to this show."

If there was once bad blood between Balthazar and the cast, it seems to have passed.

“It’s great having Balty back,” co-star Calista Flockhart, who shined on last night's episode, "The Wig Party," said. “I love him, and it makes me happy when he’s here.”

Executive producer Alison Schapker claims that the series, now in Season Four, always planned to have Tommy “leave the family, as siblings do, but to one day return.”

Prospects appear less bright for Tommy’s estranged wife, Julia (Sarah Jane Morris). Instead, new show runner David Marshall Grant is planning a new love interest for him.

In typical incestuous style, rumor has it that will be Holly’s kid sister. Awkward!

Brothers & Sisters Sneak Peek: "The Wig Party"

It's been a tough few weeks for Nora on Brothers & Sisters. That's what happens when your daughter is diagnosed with cancer.

But the Walker matriarch catches a break this Sunday in the form of Dr. Simon Craig.

Played by The Closer's Jon Tenney, he'll provide a nice distraction for Sally Field's character.

"It's the beginning of Nora trying to find some balance in her life in terms of dealing her daughter," said showrunner David Marshall Grant. "It's the beginning of a source of hope for Nora, and reminds the audience, despite what's going on, there's always hope in the future."

Watch a clip of Nora meeting Simon below and remember to return to TV Fanatic soon after "The Wig Party" concludes for a full recap/review:

Someone is Getting Knocked Up on Brothers & Sisters

Two tidbits regarding Brothers & Sisters appear to mean that Sarah should start planning a baby shower:

  1. Giiles Marini has signed on for four additional episodes of the drama. The actor, who premiered on the show last Sunday, will now appear as Luc Laurent for at least nine total installments.
  2. According to E! News, a character will soon discover she's pregnant.

Sources say the knocked up character is not Nora; nor is this scoop related to Scotty and Kevin's plans for surrogacy.

This pretty much just leaves Sarah, Kitty, Rebecca and Julia as candidates. Who do you think will be expecting?

Tommy and Julia: Returning to Brothers & Sisters!

Balthazar Getty and Sarah Jane Morris are returning to Brothers & Sisters.

The actors will reprise their roles as Tommy and Julia, respectively, for the upcoming wedding of Justin to and Rebecca. ABC has not confirmed if the characters will return as a couple or not.

Getty Tommy was last seen in May's finale, holed up in Mexico, attempting to get his life in order.

According to TV Guide Magazine, Marion Ross, who portray Nora's mom, is also likely to return for her grandson's marriage.

The nuptials are scheduled to air on December 6, but this will be the final episode before the drama takes a holiday hiatus. We wouldn't be surprised if there's a cliffhanger centered around either Justin or Rebecca having a change of heart.

Viewers will nee to tune in and find out for certain.

Brothers & Sisters Sneak Peek: "Almost Normal"

Kitty Walker has cancer.

The Brothers & Sisters character was diagnosed with Lymphoma last week, but only her mother is aware of the disease as we head into Sunday's all-new episode, "Almost Normal."

That may change by the time the episode concludes, but the cancer is still a mystery when Kitty joins Rebecca for some wedding dress shopping early in the hour.

Viewers know why Kitty is acting so sentimental, but in the clip below, Rebecca has no idea.

Robert and Kitty to "Put the Pieces Back Together" on Brothers & Sisters

It wasn't very long ago that we deemed Robert and Kitty "headed for splittsville" on Brothers & Sisters.

After all, Robert was focused on his campaign; and Kitty had grown interested in a new man, Alec.

But Rob Lowe told CBS News last week that Kitty's illness will bring these two closer together, a positive side effect to her unfortunate condition.

"Last season was the study of a disintegration of a marriage and we begin this year worlds apart," the actor said. "[But the sickness is] going to be what they needed to try to put the pieces back together."

Marry MeSurprise Party!

As for other major spoilers for Brothers & Sisters, producer Alison Schapker told Entertainment Weekly that Saul takes Ryan under his wing at Ojai this season, but:

“Saul has a secret, which is that he was there the night before Ryan’s mother committed suicide, not William. So that’ll be interesting when that comes out."
