Lyndsy Fonseca: Returning to Desperate Housewives

After losing Mike to Susan, Katherine Mayfair has been losing it little by little on Desperate Housewives.

Perhaps Dana Delaney's character could use some daughterly love. Enter Lyndsy Fonseca. TV Guide Magazine reports the actress will return later this season as Katherine's child, Dylan.

The character has been absent since 2008, prior to the show's five-year time jump. Internet rumors state that Katherine might enter a mental hospital in the near future, which would leave the door open for family to visit.

Fonseca has also enjoyed extended runs on How I Met Your Mother and Big Love.

Dan Castellaneta to Crash into Wisteria Lane

On December 6, the women of Desperate Housewives will attend a Christmas party.

As previously reported, however, the shindig will be interrupted by a minor incident: a plane crashes down on Wisteria Lane.

We've now learned that Dan Castellaneta will portray the unlucky pilot behind the controls of this vehicle, which is rumored to take the lives of at least one major character.

Castellaneta has appeared on episodes of Greek and Castle.

But he's most responsible for thousands of incredible Homer Simpson quotes, as he voices the bumbling patriarch of TV's funniest family.

Kathy Najimy to Guest Star on Desperate Housewives

Veteran actress Kathy Najimy has landed a role on Desperate Housewives.

The actress - who has appeared on a number of shows, including Privileged, King of the Hill and Numb3rs - will guest star in as a police officer with a surprising connection to Teri Hatcher’s Susan.

“Susan suspects Katherine was the one who attacked Julie, so she gets [a cop] to help her,”  creator Marc Cherry told Entertainment Weekly. “But then she finds out the policewoman went to high school with her — and Susan stole her boyfriend, too! So [Najimy] has been going around the past 30 years resenting her.”

In other Desperate Housewives casting news, Rebecca Staab and David Chisum are also coming to Wisteria Lane.

They'll debut on October 25; while Najimy's episode will also air in October.

Rebecca Staab and David Chisum: Moving Into Wisteria Lane!

Another week, another exciting piece of casting news for Desperate Housewives.

The show, which most notably added Drea de Matteo this summer, has found a couple new residents for Edie Britt's home.

Rebecca Staab (who has appeared on The Young and the Restless and NCIS, among other shows) and David Chisum (best known as Miles Laurence on One Life to Live from 2007-08) will come aboard the ABC series as a married couple.

The duo will premiere on the October 25 episode of Desperate Housewives.

Shawn Pyfrom: Bumped to Recurring Status on Desperate Housewives

A host of new stars have been added to Desperate Housewives.

But one long-time actor has actually lost his role as a series regular, a mutual decision which Marc Cherry explained to Entertainment Weekly.

Shawn Pyfrom wanted to pursue other projects, so Cherry has arranged a situation in which Andrew doesn’t vanish without a trace, but does take some time away for awhile.

“He wanted more freedom [so] we [hammered out] a smaller episode order with him,” the series creator said. “I don’t ever want to say goodbye to him completely. He’s a beloved figure around here.”

Jesse Metcalfe: Returning to Desperate Housewives

Drea de Matteo might be bringing some attitude to season six of Desperate Housewives, but Jesse Metcalfe is bringing the hotness.

The actor will reprise his role of John Rowland, Gabrielle's boy toy from season one, on this fall's third and fourth episodes.

The character was last seen in 2007, when John married the daughter of a wealthy businessman.

“Now he’s divorced and doing well in a different industry,” creator Marc Cherry told TV Guide Magazine, adding that Gaby’s husband, Carlos, won't be very pleased to learn that John is single again.

Classic Housewives

However, this time it’s not necessarily Gaby about whom Carlos has to worry; it's his niece, Ana (Maiara Walsh).

“When Ana finds out that Gabrielle had an affair with John, she sets her sights on him, which upsets Gabrielle," said Cherry.

Jeffrey Nordling and Beau Mirchoff Join New Family on Desperate Housewives

Drea de Matteo won't be alone on Desperate Housewives. ABC has cast two actors to fill out her family on Wisteria Lane.

Jeffrey Nordling and Beau Mirchoff have joined the series as regulars next season.

Nordling will portray a New York landscape designer that moves to the infamous road his wife (DeMatteo) and their tightly wound, sexy and intense son (Mirchoff). Mirchoff's character is rumored to get involve with a returning Julie (Andrea Bowen).

Heading into its sixth season, the show has been beefing up the cast with new faces, including regulars de Matteo, Nordling, Mirchoff, Bowen and Maiara Walsh.

Gabrielle: Hey, cut her some slack. She's Romanian, okay? When your people are being chased into Argentina by angry cossacks, maybe a sparkling toilet isn't that important.
Carlos: Argentina? How about you stick to fractions, and I'll teach Juanita geography? Goodbye.
