On Sunday's new episode of Dexter, everyone's favorite mass murderer will attempt to get even closer to Arthur Mitchell.

What makes this storyline so compelling is the fact that Dexter clearly wants to carve Trinity up, but he also wants to legitimately learn from him.

John Lithgow's performance, meanwhile, gives us the chills. Is he on to Dexter? Or is his benevolent persona the real thing? We'll be clued to our screen through December, itching to find out.

According to Julie Benz, there will be a "shocking ending" to this season of Dexter.

Before we can get there, however, the show will surprise viewers with hints toward a significant death this Sunday night.

We've heard strong rumors about who will bite the dust, but reports indicate fans should pay close attention to the final few minutes of the installment "Dex Takes a Holiday."

Creating both a challenge and a dilemma for Michael C. Hall's character will be the Trinity Killer, a suspected murderer that moves to Miami. Said his portrayer, John Lithgow, last month:

“I’m the only one on set who knows what’s going to happen in the next 12 episodes and it’s a fantastic feeling. I could actually speak two sentences right now that would make this entire building explode... My character has fantastic surprises."
