Jamey Sheridan - best known for his former role as Law & Order: Criminal Intent's Captain Deakins - will soon be portraying playing a client of Eli Stone. Look for him in the season's 11th episode.

Sheridan will guest star on the series as an evening news anchor that is "banished" to 5 a.m. Siberia when his reporting starts raising the ire of network advertisers.

Once the character is let go, Eli and company must navigate around an incriminating email in which the anchor basically resigned quit, thereby voiding his lucrative, multi-year contract.

Will Katie Holmes return to the show as Grace? Executive producer Marc Guggenheim has the answer:

"We're waiting on a back-nine [pickup order]," he told Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello. "But as long as we can make the schedules work out, I think she's open to it. She had a great time. So fingers crossed."

To the delight of Dawson's Creek fans, Katie Holmes is already making her presence felt on Eli Stone.

According to E! Online, though, another alum of that teen drama is set to make an appearance on the series:

Kerr Smith will be "coming on board as a senior attorney who is a good foil for Maggie," said executive producer Marc Guggenheim.

Also, look for Katey Sagal to return in the second episode, but "we do end up losing her a couple of episodes in because of Sons of Anarchy." Moreover, Tom Amandes will be sticking around as partner Martin Posner, and Marc says:

"Just wait! You think he was bad in the premiere - he gets much, much worse!"

Might Katie be recruiting Dawson or Pacey for a future Eli Stone episode?

Eli Stone is off to a strong second season start.

And the show is likely to garner far more attention over the next few weeks, as Katie Holmes come aboard the show in the role of Grace.

But who is Grace? E! Online asked show runner Marc Guggenheim that exact question.

"I like to call [Katie's character Grace] She-li because she's kind of the female version of Eli...She's a lawyer who changed her life and went in a much more public-interest, pro-bono direction. She kind of represents another way Eli could have gone with his whole change of life."

According to various Eli Stone spoilers, Katie Holmes' character will play a key role this season.

So, does Mrs. Tom Cruise stick around?

"Yeah, Grace sort of remains in the background throughout the year, and then she moves large toward the middle half of the season. The relationship that's established is obviously a very important one to Eli, and I don't think we would be being truthful with either the show or his character if we didn't occasionally allow Grace to influence the scenes that Eli's in and the experience that he's going through.

The executive director of Eli Stone is excited for the new season of the show as fans are.

He recently spoke to Kristin from E! Online and revealed a couple big spoilers about the first few episodes.
