Fringe: Casting for Walter's Wife

On last week's episode of Fringe, viewers got to know Broyles a bit more.

In the near future, meanwhile, it sounds like they'll be introduced to more from Walter's past; specifically, his ex-wife.

Father and Son at Work

Fox sent out the following casting notice, which asks for an actress to come aboard in a possibly recurring role described as:

[WALTER'S WIFE] Caucasian. To Play Walter's wife is in her mid 40's to play a little younger. She's both strong and broken, intelligent, attractive, likable, lovely and extremely versatile.

Anyone come to mind to take on this character?

Fringe Casting Update: Sebastian Roché As The Leader

As previously reported, former General Hospital star Sebastian Roché has landed the role of a major villain on Fringe.

We can now confirm the dangerous character he'll be portraying: Roché will simply be known as The Leader, a mysterious humanoid soldier from another universe whose goal is to gather information about Olivia - and, possibly, start a war.

That can't be good.

Roché was recently seen on the short-lived CW series The Beautiful Life and on the previous season of 24.

Sebastian Roche to Play "Big Baddie Part" on Fringe

It's been a busy year for General Hospital star Sebastian Roche.

He stalked Jack Bauer on 24; he booked a recurring role on The Beautiful Life, until that terrible CW got canceled this week.

Now, according to the actor himself, Roche has landed a role on Fringe. On his Twitter account, Roche writes that he's landed the role of “a big recurring baddie part” on the Fox series. No word yet on when he'll first air.

Fringe: Casting for Phillip Broyles' Wife

Phillip Broyles may be a key character in the mythology of Fringe, but not a lot is known about this agent.

Played by Lance Reddick, who has mastered the portrayal of mysterious individuals, Broyles is typically seen at work, conducting business in a no-nonsense, straightforward manner.

But viewers will finally get a glimpse into his personal life this season. Without revealing any major Fringe spoilers, we can confirm that the show has released the following casting notice for "Diane."

African American, in her 40's and attractive. Diane is Broyles (Lance Reddick's) ex-wife. One day guest star. Possibly recurring.

Diane Broyles will be featured in the sixth episode of the second season. As hinted at above, she may stick around beyond that, as well.

Kirk Acevedo's Status on Fringe: Answers Sort of Coming

Kirk Acevedo staying on Fringe or leaving the show for good?

Rumors over this actor's status have been swirling for weeks.

Yesterday, during the Fringe panel discussion at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, executive producer J.H. Wyman tried to clear the air regarding the future of Acevedo (and, of course, his character of Charlie).

Kirk Acevedo, Fringe

Wyman said something heartbreaking happens with Charlie on the season two premiere and...

"That is going to be a continuing storyline throughout the season. It should thrill. Nobody ever really disappears, and they could come back at any time. There is a parallel universe. Maybe [Charlie] will show up [there]. I think a lot of the answers you're looking for will be clear in [episodes] two and three and four. You'll really enjoy it."

Regardless - or perhaps because - of what might happen to Charlie, Meghan Markle will debut as a new FBI agent when Fringe returns on September 17.

Fringe: Casting for a Psychic

Fringe has cast Meghan Markle in the role of a new FBI agent.

But the show isn't finished adding character just yet.

J.J. Abrams and fellow producers are searching for an actress to play the recurring role of Rebecca. She's described in the casting notice as follows:

A 50 year-old never-married blond female. Far from being a spinster, she is beautiful, wealthy, and completely comfortable with who she is. She also has psychic abilities, which has been both a blessing and a curse. Debuts in episode 4.

The Observer

Will a new psychic play a role on Fringe related to The Observer? Tune in. Find out.

The Observer: Who is she? Why did you save her?
August: I saw her many years ago. She was a child. Her parents had just been killed. She was crying. But she... she was brave. She crossed my mind... somehow. She never left it. I think... it's what they call... feelings. I think... I love her.
