As first reported by Soap Opera Digest, Michelle Ray Smith is returning to Guiding Light. She'll be around for Jeffrey's funeral. Her first airdate is Friday, July 24.

Maureen Garrett is on her way back to Guiding Light.

According to CBS.com, the actress will reprise her signature role as Holly Reade. She'll start up again on August 26.

Unless it's miraculously saved, Guiding Light will go off the air in September.

However, longtime star Gina Tognoni won't be around for the final few episodes.

TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco reports that the actress taped her last scene as Dinah Marler on the show last Friday, June 26.

Tognoni's contract was expires this month, as the two sides failed to make an agreement to extend it. Her last airdate isn't known, but the series typically films about a month ahead of episodes going on to the air.

There were rumors that Tognoni would return to One Life to Live as Kelly Cramer, but no deal has been reached with that show at this time, either.
