Heroes Round Table: Plot Holes Galore!

As our review of "Brother's Keeper" outlined, we didn't hate this week's episode of Heroes. That's a big step for a critical TV Fanatic panel of critics!

But we wouldn't be doing our jobs if we didn't point out that the episode was still overflowing with plot holes and nonsensical character developments.

We focus on those in this edition of the Round Table and, as always, we encourage reader feedback...

Why did Tracy lose control of her abilities?
M.L. House: This really made no sense. She claimed it was due to "panic attacks." But she was held in by Danko last year, she's been faced with far more stressful situation than just... sitting around. The only answer to this question is: because the script called for it.

Dr. Shepherd: So the show could break its budget by making Claire freeze and crack.

The Barnacle: Who cares? Did you see Ali Larter in that bathtub?!?

Why on earth would Nathan's body still be around?
M.L. House: This made even less sense! For someone that's organized many cover-ups, why would Angela not dispose of Nathan's body as soon as possible?!? Once again, the only answer to this question is: because the script called for it.

Dr. Shepherd: I have no idea.

The Barnacle: To move the plot along. D'uh! The writers likely thought of this storyline two days ago. Give them a break!

Heroes Round Table: "Tabula Rasa"

We're back with another edition of the Heroes Round Table!

What did you like or dislike about this week's new episode? We hope you're discussing it with fellow viewers in our forum.

As for the TV Fanatic staff, we've gathered once again to analyze developments from "Tabula Rasa." Who is our favorite villain? Who will die? Read on. Find out our take...

Choose your favorite villain: Sylar or Samuel?
A. Hiro: Out with the old, in with the new! Samuel strikes me as far more intriguing these days. He commands my attention during each scene, while I almost find myself bored with Sylar.

Milover: Sylar. Samuel is simply the flavor of the month, if you will. But you heard the carnival folks discussing Sylar this week. They've all heard of him. They all fear him. That's the nature of a true villain.

Timex: Samuel, because he's layered. I never bought into Sylar's backstory - he's evil because he wants to be special? - but Robert Knepper plays Samuel is such a manner that I can't tell if he's wholly evil. I love that.

Which Hero will die?
A. Hiro: I read somewhere that it's the one character fans will expect the least. For that reason, I'm going with Peter.

Milover: HRG. First off, he doesn't have an ability, so he actually can die. Secondly, he's been mulling about without a purpose recently. Now that he sort of found one this week, I can see him perishing while trying to help another troubled hero.

Timex: I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe any will die until I see it. I've been asking for someone major to bite the big one for years, in order to up the stakes on the show, and it never happens, even though Tim Kring has admitted he doesn't know how to write for all these characters.

Heroes Round Table: "Ink"

While countless fans meet up in our Heroes forum and discuss last night's episode, our staff wants in on the action!

We've gathered together to analyze various events and developments from "Ink,' including a possible new Hero and an awesome new villain. With that in mind, let's get right to the latest edition of the Heroes Round Table!

What's the deal with Emma?
A. Hiro: I don't know yet, but it's hard to recall a new character making such a great first impression. I was intrigued from the moment her bed shook in order to wake her up.

Milover: I bet she's a love interest for Peter, which ought to take the show in a welcome direction. I know these characters are busy being super human and all, but it would be cool to see some of them involved in typical relationships.

Timex: She's deaf and she can see sounds as light. How did you miss that?

Heroes RT

Who is the most interesting character on the show?
A. Hiro: This general question is my biggest issue with the show right now. Yes, the first two episodes have been solid. But when you stop and realize that Samuel is the most fascinating character - BY FAR - it says something about how far others have fallen.

Milover: The answer is clearly Samuel, but this is an unfair question. He's new. Of course he'll be more interesting at first. Moreover, why does it matter which character keeps your interest. Isn't the important thing the fact that you are interested at all?

Timex: I'm stil a sucker for HRG. But they need to get him involved in a better storyline. We get it. He loves his Claire Bear and wants to keep her safe. Can we move on now?

Heroes Round Table: Fourth Season Premiere

Heroes is back - and so is our weekly Heroes Round Table!

Following each new episode of the series, our staff will gather and share our thoughts on the latest episode of the NBC drama. We encourages fans to do the same in our Heroes forum!

Will Hiro live or die? Will Sylar ever fully return? It's time to get right to the heart of these issues and more...

Will Hiro die?
A. Hiro: It pains me to say this, but: I hope so. The character is now nothing but a comedic tool. Compare that to the visionary character from season one. To actually kill Hiro off would create the buzz Heroes needs, while giving him a purpose once again.

Milover: I doubt it. I'm in favor of this storyline, but I wished they had drawn it out more. It makes sense that Hiro's constant time travel would affect his brain/body; and it was noble of him to initially tell Ando that he wouldn't go back in time because it put the world in danger... but within the first episode, he's already flip-flopped on this stance. The entire idea of "the butterfly effect," which Hiro referenced, is that even the tiniest change to history can alter the course of humanity.

Timex: No way. This is Heroes. When was the last time a main character died?!?

Heroes RT

What will happen with Sylar?
A. Hiro: Parkman is gonna turn evil. Similar to my first answer, I hope this takes place because it would give the show a bolt of energy. Inspired by his visions of Sylar, it would be cool if Parkman became the embodiment of that villain's dark ways.

Milover: Again, this is a great idea handled poorly. It would have been very cool to watch Nathan slowly - very, very slowly - transform into Sylar. Instead, the show depicted a lack of patience by having Nathan already exerting so many tendencies of the person inside him.

Timex: Honestly, I'm confused. Angela is dreaming about Sylar; Parkman is having visions of him while awake; and Nathan is the body for him? I'm not insulting the series. I'm seriously asking. I don't follow.
