House Review: "Teamwork"

I loved you and I loved Chase - and I feel sorry for you both. Because there's no way back for either of you.

With those words, Cameron left the hospital, left her marriage and left House.

Until that speech, delivered perfectly by Jennifer Morrison, the Chase/Cameron marital strife felt a bit forced. Read our recap of "Teamwork" to get caught up and chime in with your thoughts on Cameron's departure.

Everything in the episode happened very quickly, as Cameron forgave her husband; said they had to find new jobs; House recruited Taub and Thirteen; manipulated Chase and Cameron; pined over Cuddy; and, oh, also dealt with a sick porn star patient.

Bad Marriage

But the pay-off came at the end. Once Chase took full responsiblity for his actions and House revealed that he was aware of the patient's diagnosis all along (but was playing a game to get Taub and Thirteen on board), it all came together.

Something had to finally put Cameron over the edge, following six years of trying to be the voice of morality and reason on the diagnostic team. Every word she said to House at the conclusion of the episode rang true. The series has dealt with House's focus on puzzle solving (over patient care) since day one, but the Dibala incident showed how much of the controversial doctor has rubbed off on Chase, always his most ardent follower.

Due to leaked spoilers, we've known about Morrison's exit for weeks. Therefore, we spent the entire episode unsure if events were set up well enough to explain the departure of an original cast member. It took most of the hour to get there, but when Cameron walked away, it felt earned.

Do you agree? Ponder that question as you review the following quotes from the House cast below:

House: I'll have whatever he's buying.
Dr. Wilson: Two cheeseburgers and two large fries. | permalink
Chase: I'm not running away from what I did because you wanna pretend I never did it. | permalink
Lucas: I'm dating Lisa Cuddy.
Chase: Seriously?
Lucas: Cool, huh? | permalink
Chase: Why are you trying to screw things up?
House: You got the tense wrong. Things are already screwed up. | permalink

House Review: "Known Unknowns"

We're not even gonna touch on the Case of the Week from this episode.

We're glad the young patient will be okay and everything, but "Known Unknowns" was really all about an ever-maturing House. Follow the preceding link for a recap of the episode.

Granted, a mature House still drugs his best friend and gives a controversial speech under a false identity. But that's what makes this show and this character so fascinating.

He took an unorthodox approach, but every word House delivered to Wilson following these acts was spot-on. Moreover, House took such drastic measures for purely benevolent purposes. He truly wanted to save Wilson's career.

Would the old House ever have acted with an ulterior motive?

At a Medical Conference

We have mixed feelings about the return of Lucas, though. Michael Weston was outstanding in this role when we last saw him.

But the obnoxious private eye seemed neutered this week, didn't he? It was an awkward situation, as everyone agreed, but we hope that soon changes. It would be a waste to bring this character back and then do away with his gleefully manipulative side.

What did you think of the installment?

A few House quotes we appreciated from the episode:

Dr. Wilson: That was my paper. You don't ask what I want, you ignore my wishes, you drug me.
House: I'm waiting for you to name something new to our relationship. | permalink
Dr. Wilson: Yes, you can sit her running up my hotel bill, or you can go get the woman of your dreams.
House: I didn't know Angela Merkel was attending the conference. | permalink
Wilson: We can't even argue on my schedule. | permalink
Lucas: Hey House.
House: Hey Lucas.
Lucas: This is awkward.
House: A bit. That will probably go away if I left. | permalink

House Review: "Brave Heart"

While Fox promised one of the strangest cases in House history this week, we're pretty much numb to any professional surprises on the show at this point.

But the pair of personal storylines that lingered last night were intriguing.

First, Jesse Spencer is going an outstanding job with Chase's Dibala dilemma. We do hope his character reveals the secret to Cameron on the next episode, however, as he's clearly so far over the line that it's not realistic for it to remain kept from her.

It's also interesting to see how this will lead to Jennifer Morrison's exit from the series. Will she simply leave her husband when she learns what he did?

Read a full recap of events from "Brave Heart" now.

With a Patient

As for House, we could watch him interact with Wilson for hours.

For the first time in years, the character is clearly evolving, as he may still be snarky and even mean at times - but he's not miserable. That much is certain, and it's a pleasure to watch Hugh Laurie find a new take on the man he's played for so long.

Check out a few of our favorite House quotes from the episode below:

Cuddy: This is the part where you play the employee and I play the boss.
House: I can see your nipples. Your turn. | permalink
House: Differential diagnosis for resurrection. Go! | permalink
Foreman: You can't perform an autopsy without a medical license.
House: Really? Because I don't think there's anything we could screw up that we haven't already screwed up. | permalink
Chase: I've crossed some line and I'm having trouble getting back to the other side. | permalink

House Recap: "The Tyrant"

What an intense episode of House.

James Earl Jones guest-starred this week and the developments around his character (an abusive African dictator) are rumored to lead to the eventual exit of Jennifer Morrison as Cameron.

Last night, though, she was very much present, as Cameron and Chase struggled with how to treat Jones' character. Read all about it in our recap of "The Tyrant."

Return of House

As usual, there were a few great House quotes from the episode. We've compiled our favorites below:

Wilson: It's easy to be nice to people you like. Being nice to people you hate, that's a skill. | permalink
House [to Cameron]: I need you to spread your legs so I can make an H. | permalink
Cuddy: No procedures. No patient contact.
House: I think I can probably deal with that one. | permalink
House: Oh my God, it's three years ago! Does that mean I'm still crazy? | permalink

House Recap: "Epic Fail"

House the chef? Entertaining for a few moments, but nothing compared to House the doctor.

Our favorite diagnostic expert tried his hand at other hobbies this week, in order to remain clean and happy, but only one thing distracted him from the pain in his leg: medicine.

Does this mean he'll return to his team full-time in the future? And is there even a team left to return to? These answer and more lie ahead with our recap of "Epic Fail."

Back to Normal

There were some classic House quotes on the episode. Among our favorites:

Wilson: Is that my laundry?
House: You were running out of socks for me to borrow. | permalink
Thirteen: This might be the best thing I've ever eaten... and yes, I'm including what you're thinking about now. | permalink
Foreman: I feel like Tom Brady's back-up.
Thirteen: Tom Brady's back-up now makes $10 million. | permalink
House: I quit.
Foreman: You can't quit.
House: I think you're confusing me with Jake Gyllenhaal. | permalink

House Recap: "Broken"

They didn't break me. I am broken.

Did House viewers ever expect those words to come out of the mouth of the show's main character?

Moreover, could any fan of this Fox series have expected more from a season premiere than last night's incredible two-hour installment? It played like a movie, as no other show on television could have pulled off such a feat.

Featuring only one main character, in an entirely new setting, "Broken" showcased Hugh Laurie at his best. It's hard to do it justice with an episode recap, but we tried. Follow the preceding link for a complete rundown.

Doctors Clash

Among the many tremendous House quotes from last night, a few of our favorites:

Dr. Nolan: Why do you value your failures more than your successes?
House: My mother caught me masturbating... to pictures of her mother.
Dr. Nolan: Can we get past these cute deflections? | permalink
Dr. Nolan: You having fun?
House: I did connect with one guy. But the my propensity for screwing things up overtook me. Then my desire to have fun overcame my propensity. | permalink
House: I see you've got some cello in your trunk. And no, that's not a euphemism. | permalink
House: I'm sick of being miserable. | permalink
