Lost Interview with Sterling Beaumon

We gotta tell you, we are impressed with child actor Sterling Beaumon.  Not only did he do a terrific performance as a young Ben in last week's Lost, but after this interview you'll love him too.

Sterling not only answered all the questions with some juicy Lost spoilers and thought-provoking answers, he actually took the time to go through message boards and answer reader questions!  Here's a small excerpt:

TVGuide.com: I read in a previous interview that when you first appeared on Lost (during Season 3), you were warned not to mimic Michael Emerson, because Ben wasn't that Ben yet. Is it safe to say he now is?
Beaumon:
Not quite yet....

TVGuide.com: Something more would have to happen to put him on that path?
Beaumon:
Yes. And that Ben.... Well, if you go back in the season to when they first met up with [Amy], they tell Daniel, "We can't interfere, because we can't change time," and Daniel says, "It doesn't matter now, because we're stuck here." So now they can change time. So that big older mean Ben that we know very well may not even exist.

Sterling Beaumon as Young Ben

TVGuide.com: OK. I was going to say, Who better to carry out the massacre in a few years than a presumed-dead, angry Ben, but....
Beaumon:
Maybe the massacre is never going to happen now.

TVGuide.com: Before we go, you said you had a few things you wanted to clear up....
Beaumon:
Yes, I was just reading the message boards — I know, I'm so bad — and there are some things I want to address. For example, Ben arrived on the island in 1974, when he was 12 years old. Now it's three years later, so he's like 14 or 15. When Sayid refers to "12-year-old Ben" [in the episode "He's Our You"], he just didn't know. They will later say how old I really am. Also, some people are thinking that Ben killed his dad in the van fire that he set; he didn't. Older Ben killed his dad in, like, 1995. Those are just a few things I'm seeing out there.

Lost Spoilers: Mark Pellegrino Coming to Lost

After playing Rita's crazy, drug-addicted ex on Dexter, Mark Pellegrino will be joining the cast of Lost on the season five finale later this year in a pivotal role.  So just what can we expect from Pellegrino's character?

According to speculation by Ausiello Files, Pellegrino will be playing Jacob in an off-island, 1970s flashback involving some familiar faces.  One of those familiar faces is *a****.  Yeah, we love Ausiello's asterisks just as much as you.

Lost Spoilers: "Getting Lost 8"

We'd like to think it's safe to assume you've watched your TiVoed copy of this week's Lost by now and it's okay to say young Ben got shot.  Now the question remains, what happens to present day Ben?

You can consult all of your Back to the Future knowledge of time travel.. or you can watch the latest Getting Lost with Matt Mitovich where he speaks with the actor behind young Ben, Sterling Beaumon and asks that exact question.

Watch below for some delicious Lost spoilers and some thought-provoking questions:

Lost Spoilers: What's to Come for Relationships

When you come here looking for Lost spoilers we know what you want.  Sure we could give you answers to all the Island's unanswered question, but we'd far rather focus on the relationships.

Or maybe that's all Kristin Dos Santos' latest Lost coming soon gave us the ammo to do.  Here's what we got:

  • Juliet & Sawyer - Going strong through season five.  Expect to see a lot more of this out-of-left-field pairing through the year.
  • Juliet & Jack - Not in season five
  • Sawyer & Kate - Over the next few episodes all they'll be doing is getting under each others' skin, not clothes
  • Jack & Kate - The original couple will still have each others' backs, but that's it for this season
  • Jin & Sun - They may not re-unite until the finale, but the word is that rumored wedding is a flashback to theirs

Lost Spoilers: A Wedding Finale

With most of the recent Lost spoilers revolving around death, we're happy to report a much happier spoiler.  During the Lost two hour season finale on May 13 there's going to be some wedding vows exchanged.

According to Ausiello Fils, an ABC insider told him that the Lost wedding is being filmed later today.  So who's getting married?  Ausiello only gave us two hints: the extras in the scene will all be of Asian-American descent and the wedding takes place on the mainland, not the island.

Now for two theories of who's getting married.  The first would be it's a flashback to Sun and Jin's wedding. Now the much more fun one is that it's a flash forward to the wedding between Sun and Jin's daughter, Ji Yeon, and Claire's son, Aaron.  This second, wild theory is actually support by previous Lost spoilers about a future Aaron and Ji Yeon from Dark UFO.

Lost Spoilers: "Getting Lost 7"

In typical Lost fashion, this week's episode, "Namaste" raised as many questions as it answered.  Matt Mitovich did his best job to try and answer some of them in his weekly video column "Getting Lost."

In the following video, he speaks with the beautiful actress behind Juliet, Elizabeth Mitchell, about what will happen with Juliet now that Kate is back in Sawyer's life.  Matt also explores with Sean of Lost Video Recaps about Sun's creepy tour guide, Christian Shepard.

Lost Spoilers: "Namaste"

When Lost returns next week with "Namaste," it looks like the whole group is reunited in the 1970s.  In the following clip from the upcoming episode, Jin runs into Sayid.

Watch below and forgive the fine folks at ABC for making us wait a whole extra week for this:

Lost Spoilers: "Getting Lost 6"

The producers of Lost may have taken the week off, but the restless creators of the "Getting Lost" webisodes, Matt Mitovich, never does.  In his latest installment, Matt talks about the four toed statue in "LaFleur" and then helps give us a clue on who Amy's baby is.

Watchers of the websidoes guessed that Amy's baby was one of these four important Lost men: Ethan Rom, Desmond, Jacob, and Daniel Faraday.  According to Matt, it's absolutely one of those four.

Lost Spoilers: A Major Death

It looks like that in addition to the major-ish death that will occur on Lost this season, we're also going to see a major death!  According to Kristin Dos Santos, a series regular will die by the end of the fifth season.

So what hints does Krisitn offer us?

  • The character who will die is someone who is much-loved by many of you fans.
  • This is a real leaving-the-show death, à la Shannon or Charlie, not a quick-fix time-travel death like Jeremy Bentham/John Locke.
  • The character getting killed off is not, I repeat, not Evie's character Kate Austen.
