Despite the best efforts of its most dedicated fans, Guiding Light will almost definitely be canceled this September.

As a result, other shows have been wooing current stars from the CBS drama.

The latest, according to The New York Daily News, involves Daniel Cosgrove. Reportedly, executives at One Life To Live are trying to convince the Daytime Emmy winner to reside Llanview as the seventh actor to tackle the coveted role of Joey Buchanan.

This character is the son of town matriarch Viki Davidson. He was last portrayed by Castle star Nathan Fillion.

Cristian wants answers and Rex wants sanity next week on One Life To Live...

A bit of One Life to Live casting news as we head into the heart of the summer:

• Michael Lowry, best known for playing Dr. Jake Martin on All My Children from 1997-2000, has been cast in a recurring role. Producers will only say he'll play a "character from the past." 
• Nicholas Rodriguez, pictured, who starred in a Broadway production of Tarzan, has been cast as Nick. His first airdate is August 14 and he'lll be involved in the Kyle and Fish storyline.

Next week on One Life To Live, Rex discovers what a lying tramp Stacy can be... right after he sleeps with her!

"All I can say in his defense is that the sex is slightly alcohol-induced," John-Paul Lavoisier told The New York Daily News. "And Gigi broke his heart."

Rex gives in to tempation with Stacy on a dance mat, and immediately regrets it.

"Rex finds his cell phone under the mat and realizes Gigi has been calling him this whole time," said Lavoisier. "She comes over. Rex is about to tell Gigi what he just did, but she says, 'I have something to tell you,' and he never gets it out. Then she tells him the whole truth about Stacy - how she never was the donor and blackmailed Gigi. Rex just crumbles."

From there, the lovebirds reunite and turn their attention to her slutty sibling. We can't wait!

He won't be singing the classic "All Night Long," but Lionel Richie will still be performing later this year on One Life to Live.

The soulful crooner will show up in July, as he famous follows in the footsteps of Mary J. Blige, The Pussy Cat Dolls and Snoop Dogg as artists that have sung on the soap opera.

Richie is expected to perform his new song "Just Go."

From the mean high school hallways of New York City to the sex-filled world of Llanview.

Soaps.com reports that Amanda Setton will appear some time in July on One Life to Live. The actress is best known for her role as Penelope on Gossip Girl.

The young, rising star will portray a character named Summer.
