Did Nathan cheat?

That's the question One Tree Hill fans are left to ponder, as we head into next week's episode of the show, titled "Deep Ocean Vast Sea."

According to James Lafferty: "This is a story line that presents a real hurdle, a mountain for [Nathan and Haley] to climb and they have to get through it together. Together they have to carry the whole family unit through the situation, and there's an immense amount of trust. At no point did I actually think it would break them up."

Fiction is starting to follow fact on One Tree Hill.

In an interview with Robert Buckley a couple weeks ago, the actor said he and Shantel VanSanten have grown close on the set of The CW hit. As viewers of the series know, the same can be said for their character, Clay and Quinn.

While Buckley wouldn't give much away in an interview with E News, he did reveal the following about Clay and Quinn's future:

"I can say with certainty that it will be mess. It's a tough situation because I wouldn't say Clay is all for a hookup, but he's attracted to her."

Whatever develops with this pair, Clay's client (and Quinn's brother-in-law) won't be happy, Buckley said:

"Nathan makes it clear that he doesn't want Clay anywhere near Quinn."

Why not? Does Clay have something to hide? The actor was coy about the answer.

"We find out more about Clay's past and how he got to Tree Hill. There will be flashbacks, but a lot of it is happening in real time as well. You meet people from his past showing up, and it introduces a whole set of problems.

You can hear the shrieks around the country: Not only has Robert Buckley joined the cast of One Tree Hill, but the former Lipstick Jungle hunk will be shirtless for many scenes on tonight's season seven premiere.

In a new interview with TV Guide, the actor - who is tasked with helping to replace series stalwarts Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton this year - spoke about his character, Clay.

Here are a couple excerpts from the chat, the first of which focuses on Buckley's sports agent; the second on his topless body.

On Clay: Season 7 starts off with us jumping a year ahead from where we left off in Season 6 [and], since then, Nathan has joined the NBA and has been successful. Clay is his agent and they have also become good friends. So you've got these good buddies, but they also have a business relationship. Clay is responsible for Nathan and his family's well-being at the end of the day, so it makes things complicated.

Will he often be shirtless this season? Not as much as I was in the first episode. I think we managed to squeeze a couple of shirtless scenes in there, but there's a respectable amount of shirtless-ness, not too much overkill.

Speaking of nudity, we hear there will be a lot this season on One Tree Hill. The video posted after this jump provides quality, sexy proof of the topless scenes to come.

As far as One Tree Hill spoilers go, it doesn't get much better than this:

The CW has released the opening four minutes of the September 14 season seven premiere.

Based on the clips below, we can state...

• ... events take place 14 months after the May finale;
• ... Haley is recording her own songs in a studio recording;
• ... Dan healthy;
• ... Brooke and Julian are in love;
• ... and there are two interesting newcomers.

With Leyton (Lucas and Peyton) "traveling the world" or some such nonsense to explain their departure on One Tree Hill, Naley (Nathan and Haley) will help fans cope with their loss by becoming the new rock, the stable couple the show can build around.

Right? Wrong.

According to E! Online's spoiler chat today, the upcoming Season Seven of One Tree Hill "starts off rocky for Haley and Nathan with a major sex and pregnancy scandal."

Yikes. Although it sounds like that may lead to some shots of James Lafferty shirtless at least. Hey, you gotta look for the silver lining wherever you can find it, right?
