John Riggins to Appear on One Tree Hill

With Robert Buckley - who TV Fanatic interviewed last month! - on board One Tree Hill as a sports agent, the potential for athletes to cross over to the small screen is never-ending.

Jerry Rice has already appeared on season seven of the show.

Now, we can report that former NFL running back and Hall of Famer John Riggins will debut on the season's 10th episode. He'll portray Clay's boss, Ken Arthur, a character that may stick around.

Riggins rushed for 11,352 yards in his career. He's previously guest-starred on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Guiding Light.

India de Beaufort Cast on One Tree Hill

The remaking of One Tree Hill leading up to the CW drama's seventh season continues with the addition of newcomer India de Beaufort, according to a report in TV Guide.

Although Peyton Sawyer (Hilarie Burton) and Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) no longer call Tree Hill home, Peyton’s fledgling record label will remain open for business.

Creator Mark Schwahn says that India de Beaufort will join the cast as Miranda Stone, "a smart, successful record executive who has been sent to Tree Hill, N.C., to oversee the day to day operations of boutique label Red Bedroom Records."

India de Beaufort Picture

The latest pretty face on One Tree Hill belongs to India de Beaufort.

Beaufort is the latest in a long line of new actors including Robert Buckley, Shantel VanSanten and Jana Kramer to round out the revamped Season Seven cast of One Tree Hill.

Are you excited for the show's return or what?

Danneel Harris Returning to One Tree Hill

The bitch who uttered so many catty One Tree Hill quotes is so back.

Danneel Harris has closed a deal to reprise her role as pot-stirrer Rachel Gatina in at least seven episodes this fall, beginning with the second episode of Season 7.

Harris made her Tree Hill debut as Brooke Davis' high school nemesis in the show's third season but wasn't made a series regular until One Tree Hill's fourth season.

She was written out in the fifth season of the show after appearing in only a handful of those episodes, an apparent victim of the show's four-year flash forward.

In other One Tree Hill news, the last of next season's new contract roles has gone to 90210 grad Jana Kramer, who will play Alexis, a model for Brooke's clothing line.

As previously reported, Robert Buckley and relative newcomer Shantel VanSanten are also joining the cast as Nathan's sports agent and Haley's sister respectively.

Jana Kramer Cast on One Tree Hill

From one CW hit to another.

Jana Kramer, fresh off the recurring role of student Portia Ranson on 90210, has signed on for a multiple-episode arc this fall on One Tree Hill.

The beautiful actress will play model/actress Alexis, the new face of Brooke's clothing line. Sources describe the character as an adrenaline junkie and a diva, one who loves to party and is accustomed to getting her way.

Kramer has also appeared on Private Practice and Friday Night Lights.

Earlier this summer, Shantel VanSanten was cast in the role of Quinn on One Tree Hill, as the series continues to round out a new set of actors to replace departed stars Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton.

One Tree Hill Casting News, Notes

With the cast undergoing an overhaul, some One Tree Hill fans are wondering whether the show will cast an African-American or other minority in any of the new roles.

Thus far, it's 0-for-2, with Robert Buckley and Shantel VanSanten have been cast in the roles of Nathan's agent and Haley's sister, Quinn, respectively.

As for "Alex" or "Alexis" (the supermodel fronting Brooke's new clothing line), One Tree Hill says it's looking at "all ethnicities," so there's hope there.

That role has yet to be cast, however, and the show is reportedly taking its time.

On a somewhat related note, NFL legend Jerry Rice will appear as himself in the September 14 opener. All 15 fans who have heard of him will totally love that!

Shantel VanSanten Joins Cast of One Tree Hill

For her first regular role, Shantel VanSanten has done rather well for herself.

The unknown actress, who has appeared on an episode of CSI: NY, has joined the cast of One Tree Hill.

Shantel VanSanten

Sources confirm to Michael Ausiello that the relative newcomer has landed the key new role of Quinn, one of Haley's older sisters. Look for the character to show up this fall with a damaged heart, in search of someone to mend it.

VanSanten joins Robert Buckley as a new addition to the One Tree Hill cast.

In other casting news: Danneel Harris will return as Rachel for at least one storyline next season.

Clay: My wife died. Suddenly and unfairly. But she believed in me. And she believed in what I wanted to do. So I buried her, and I picked out her headstone, and then I went to work. So don't tell me about fortitude. And don't lecture me about dark days. Because this, is far from my darkest day.
