Private Practice Preview: "Triangles"

This evening on Private Practice, it's more pregnancy drama as Addison's patient and the life of the three unborn babies she is carrying as a surrogate hang in the balance.

The new wrinkle? Sam's new girlfriend and Addison are sharply divided over the course of treatment. This program is the poster child for not mixing business and pleasure!

Meanwhile, Cooper seeks Sheldon's help with a young patient, but their personal quarrels over Charlotte get in the way - the second such triangle Sheldon has been in now.

As we know, Naomi has a similar love dilemma with her boss, William, and an increasingly, unexpectedly charming Dr. Fife. How will these intertwining relationships be resolved?

We'll find out tonight in the appropriately titled episode, "Triangles." Sounds like another good episode. Here's a promo of what's coming up on the Grey's Anatomy spinoff ...

Kate Walsh on Addison-Sam Story Line: I Like Where it Goes!

Private Practice fans can all agree on one thing regarding this season's will they / won't they courtship of Addison and Sam: It's something they feel strongly about.

In which direction? That's another story.

How does Kate Walsh feel about her character's exploits? Should Addison and Sam cool it and be friends, or is there something there? What about Addison and Pete?

In a recent interview with E!, Kate had this to say about Sam-Addy love: "Yeah, it's pretty polarizing, but I can't even comment. I'm too embroiled in the character."

"I like where it goes though."

Hmm, what do you make of that?

Old friends ... and new lovers?

Whether you think they are made for each other or attempts to bring them together are the dumbest thing in the history of the show, Sam and Addison get fans talking.

Addison should totally be with ...

Tim Daly Teases Pete-Addison Romance on Private Practice

She recently slept with Mark and flirted with Sam. He just had a baby with Violet. But might Addison and Pete still become the Private Practice "super couple" soon?

Tim Daly, who plays Pete, offers some intriguing teases about Thursday night's episode, "Love Bites," and beyond in an interview with TV Guide. Excerpts below ...

Q: The undisputed super couple on Grey's Anatomy is Meredith and Derek. Whom would you choose as the Private Practice super couple fans are most rooting for?

A: Interesting question. A year ago, I probably would have said Pete and Addison, and I may just say Pete and Addison again.

Q: You think it’s time they got it on?

A: TV romances take time. If they burn out too quickly there’s no place to go. But the spark between Pete and Addison has a good chance of combusting again.

Q: Perhaps as soon as this Thursday night?

HEAT: How long until the Paddison passion boils over?

A: Let’s just say they have not consummated their relationship yet on the American Broadcasting Corporation. But I’m not saying they won’t.

Q: So can we assume that the hypothetical Pete/Addison love scene is one of those "less is more" scenarios or is it all out there on display?

A: Let me just say that I think the moisture level of the fans will be high.

Q: Addison has obviously slept with both Derek and Mark – and carried on a flirtation with Sam. Does all her doctor playing with associates bother Pete?

A: Oh for God’s sake, Pete can’t be worried about that. Especially not Pete, who has banged receptionists and psychiatrists. Please. It’s a freaking Petri dish on Private Practice. We’re all swimming around in each other’s bodily fluids all the time.

Q: What’s the big medical case in "Love Bites"?

A: It’s funny, oddly topical and definitely creepy. It’s about some teenagers who are living out their Twilight fantasies by pretending to be vampires.

Will Addison and Sam Couple Up on Private Practice?

We were told things would be “heating up” between Addison and Sam on Private Practice, and last week's Grey's Anatomy crossover episode definitely delivered on that front.

Mark Sloan was the "additional complication" teased for the pair last week, as his (naked) appearance in L.A. made Sam jealous. But now that he's gone, is the path cleared?

Not even close. Pete has also been rumored to be back in the mix. Star Kate Walsh won't reveal much more than that, but does say this about the future of Addison and Sam:

“I love the dynamic between them,” she says. “I think it’s very natural that these two people who are close, who end up running a business together as well as living next door to each other and hanging out would want to explore a relationship.”

The dynamic between these two is an interesting one.

But, she observes, “there’s a huge, massive obstacle in the fact he used to be married to her best friend.” That's definitely a potential snag, but will it stop them? Should it?

We'd guess that whatever feelings might be there, Maya's bombshell dropped on her parents tonight (see sneak previews) will put romance on the back burner for now.

Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice spoilers don't always intertwine, but tonight, when the characters from both are on screen (and hooking up) with each other, they do!

Below are a couple of excerpts from EW's spoiler Q&A this morning.

We suggest if you are looking to keep the events of this evening a surprise, particularly involving the romantic dalliances of Dr. McSteamy, you not read past the picture ...

The last such moment we may see for awhile.

Things will heat up between Sam and Addison on Private Practice. Starting this evening, when he gets jealous of Mark, and again in February.
Their guilty consciences will prove a major obstacle, however, as will the added complication involving another doctor waiting in the wings!
Mark and Lexie are over. Done. The lovers will break things off this week, but their single status doesn’t really become official 'til next week.
That's when word of their respective dalliances comes to light. Interestingly, someone’s reportedly not as upset by this as you might think.
Katherine Heigl returns to the set in late February, so Izzie should likely be back on a regular basis in episodes airing in March or April.

Thoughts? Theories? Opinions? Who is the other doctor waiting in the wings for Sam or Addison? Is Mark not the only one doing the cheating on Lexie?

Grey's Anatomy & Private Practice Spoilers: Mark, Addison, Sam & More

Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice return tomorrow night on ABC, and from the sneak previews and extended promo we've seen, there's little doubt Mark and Addison, well ...

Let's just say that it looks like old habits die hard for these two in the Grey's Anatomy-Private Practice crossover event. You're either going to love it or be kind of creeped out.

While much of the focus on the Mark-Addison relations has centered on what that means for Mark and Lexie, has anyone thought to consider how it might impact Sam Bennett?

According to TV Guide, Sam's "jealousy will turn to regret, as he kicks himself for turning down Addison's previous overture." Wow. Maybe they're not ready to be just friends!

You missed your chance, Sam!

The Grey's rumor mill is also active with reports of Callie being sick. Eeek!

For the record: Callie is not dying. She just has chicken pox and will be nursed quickly back to health ... by Arizona! Not the hot Calzona action we hoped for, but still cute!

Elsewhere on the health front, though, the news is not so open-and-shut. A rumor that Owen's terrible post-traumatic stress disorder will flare up again is no laughing matter.

"We haven't seen much of it yet, but that doesn't go away," Kevin McKidd says. "My hope is we see him be able to deal with it in a more self-sufficient, non-destructive way."

He adds: "I think Teddy coming back churns up a lot of that stuff."

Extended Grey's Anatomy-Private Practice Promo For Thursday

During last night's Brothers & Sisters episode, ABC ramped up its promo for the Grey's Anatomy-Private Practice crossover event this Thursday with a 45-second advertisement.

While we've seen a lot of these snippets from the much anticipated 2010 debuts of both Shonda Rhimes series already, they've never been packaged quite this dramatically.

Or in the case of Mark and Alex, nakedly.

The promo for "Blink" and "Another Second Chance" leaves little doubt that more than one relationship may be in peril along with the life of Mark's pregnant daughter.

Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice: Crossover Pictures For Thursday

Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice both return to ABC this coming Thursday, and when they do, the worlds of Shonda Rhimes will collide in a crossover once again.

In the 9 p.m. slot, Mark flies Addison to Seattle to help with a difficult procedure on his pregnant daughter, Sloan (Leven Rambin), on an all-new Grey's Anatomy.

Meanwhile, Owen questions Teddy’s motives re: Cristina, and Derek’s suspicions are raised when the Chief recruits Meredith to assist with a high profile operation.

Private Practice Spoilers: Addison Gets McSteamy!

The Grey's Anatomy-Private Practice crossover is in full swing come January 14, with Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) at the center of both personal and professional drama.

With daughter Sloan (yes, that's her name, and Leven Rambin plays her) pregnant, Mark seeks the help of ex-flame Addison (Kate Walsh) when complications arise.

What this crossover means is very bad news ... at least if you're fans of Mark and Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh), who have been getting more and more serious of late.

When Grey’s and Private Practice return from their holiday breaks with back-to-back episodes, Mark and Addison will be “Knocking boots ’til the cows come home.”

And there's more. He also adds that as far as Lexie goes, "let’s just say Mark may not be the only one doing a little two-timing." Theories and comments welcome!

Remember this, Grey's Anatomy fans? Better get ready for another dose!
