Pushing Daisies Spoilers (Page 3)

Pushing Daisies Spoilers: A Ned and Chuck Rift

With the news that Chuck's father is actually coming back from the dead - or was never dead to begin with - it would be safe to assume that that touchy subject (you know, how Ned sort of killer him and all) wouldn't cause a problem between Ned and Chuck in the future, right?

Wrong.

In her latest Q&A session, Kristin from E! Online says a rift will form between these two characters in season two:

You would think that the upcoming return of Charles Charles (Chuck's dad) to Coeur d'Coeur might solve the problem of Ned having supposedly offed Chuck's dad, but on the contrary, I'm told the circumstances of his return will probably cause the greatest rift we've ever seen between the Ned and Chuck.

That makes us sad.

Emerson and Ned: At the Circus!

In the second episode of this season's Pushing Daisies, airing October 8, Emerson and Ned get their circus freak on. The characters hit the big top looking for a missing girl.

''It's kind of creepy and odd,'' Lee Pace said of the story line. ''But circuses are kind of creepy and odd.''

Here's a picture from that episode:

Pushing Daisies Casting News: Welcome, Stephen Root!

Stephen Root - best known for roles in Newsradio and Office Space - is joining the cast of Pushing Daisies for four episodes.

Sources confirm to Entertainment Weekly that Root's character "has a shared history with both Ned's dad and Chuck's dad," according to series creator Bryan Fuller. "He stirs up a lot of hullabaloo for everyone, particularly Aunts Lily and Vivian."

The second season of Pushing Daisies begins October 1.

Debra Mooney Cast on Pushing Daisies

We previously reported that Pushing Daisies was seeking an actress to portray Emerson's mom. Well, the search is over!

Broadway legend Debra Mooney has been cast in the role. And yes, last we checked, the star was still white.

Anna Friel, Lee Pace Dishes on Second Season of Pushing Daisies

Anna Friel and Lee Pace recently spoke to Sci-Fi Wire about the upcoming season of Pushing Daisies.

Here are some highlights from the interview:

On the season premiere: "The very first scene of the very first episode is in our beekeeper outfits," Frield said. "She gets her first-ever job at a honey factory, where she's a honey-bee girl."

On a future episode that focuses on nuns: "The nuns are really funny," Pace said. "Mo Collins plays the dead nun in the nunnery episode. She plays this trash-talking nun, and she's funny, funny, funny. In that episode, we're having a good time with the gumshoe-solving-crimes [genre].

Chi [McBride] was doing this real serious, kind of noir, kind of William Shatner [style of] acting. So I did a take where I was kind of making fun of him doing that. That's when he cracked up. I don't know if they'll use it in the episode, but I hope they do."

On episode four and frescorts: "Frescorts are friends for hire, which actually exists," Pace said. "David Arquette is our guest star in that episode. He's someone in need of a frescort. He knew the dead frescort, and he and Ned become really friendly because we're both misfits."

Remember: Pushing Daisies returns on October 1. We can't wait!

Pushing Daisies Spoilers: Pretty Guest Star, New Casting Call

Our friend at Entertainment Weekly, Michael Ausiello, has released a couple of exciting Pushing Daisies spoilers.

  • Taylor Townsend herself (pictured, from The OC), Autumn Reeser, will guest star in the season premiere. She'll play a Southern Belle named Kentucky Fritz that has a deadly run-in with some killer bees.

"She's the number one girl at Betty's Bees, who may or may not have been up to some mischief when she was stung to death by a swarm of bees," said Daisies creator Bryan Fuller.

  • Pushing Daisies is casting the role of Emerson's no-nonsense, chain-smoking mom. Get this: she's gonna be Caucasian!

David Arquette to Guest Star on Pushing Daisies

This sounds like ideal casting to us:

David Arquette - who simply looks quirky - will appear as Randy Mann in the Pushing Daisies episode titled "Freshcorts."

The character is described as a socially inept man who possesses a "secret, special talent" that connects him to Ned. Might Randy's gift be a variation on the pie maker's ability to resurrect the dead?
