Will Samantha Who? return in the fall?

"If ABC is smart, as I know they are, we'll come back for a third season," star Christina Applegate told E! News about her sitcom's status.

As for the rest of the spring, the actress teased an upcoming episode:

"We have a great episode coming up, it's called The Amazing Racist, and you'll see why. It's all Sam and Frank and them hanging out and trying to find a common ground. She tries to break him from pretending that he doesn't care about her. You know he does, and he doesn't admit it."

After a long time off the air, Samantha Who? returns tonight with a new episode.

Based on interviews star Christina Applegate gave to TV Guide and Zap2It, here's what fans can expect to see the rest of the season:

• A focus on the lives of characters away from Samantha;
• Samantha will go back to work at Chapman and Funk, in a different capacity;
• Todd and Samantha are living together;
• Dena and Andrea have found men.

When Samantha Who? returns from hiatus this Thursday, the relationship between Todd and Sam will be the sitcom's leading storyline.

Christina Applegate said as much to E! in a new interview. Asked whether or not this couple uniting would ruin the series, the actress said:

I don't think [it would] because I think they would fight like brother and sister still. I think there's always going to be that dynamic with them - where they love each other and they can't stand each other at the same time.

I think she annoys him to death, and he annoys her to death, and yet they're in love with that part of each other as well. They live together now, so it's almost like being together, except he sleeps on the couch. I don't think it would be over.

After its near four month hiatus, Samahta Who? returns next week with "The Rock Star."  Besides just getting a new episode, we fans are lucky enough to finally see a Todd and Samantha date.

Unfortunately there is a catch.  According to Kristin Dos Santos of E! Online, it's a double date to help out Andrea who is too afraid to go out with her text-only boyfriend, Tony Dale, alone.

Although Sam doesn't see their date as a date date, Todd does grow uneasy about his real feelings for her on it.  Samantha finally decides the two should talk about his feelings for her and her feelings about his feelings for her.

There's supposedly a twist at the end that puts this pair back to square one.

Have patience, Samantha Who? fans.

This Christina Applegate sitcom really is returning next month with new episodes.

Moreover, Titanic star Billy Zane will be featured prominently on them.

"[He] comes and causes a lot of confusion for everybody," Applegate says of Zane's character. "That whole arc was five episodes, and it's quite good. Because of him, it changes the course of who she is. As we come into the third season, which we hope we get, everything will be different."

Third season? Fans will settle for a single new episode at this point.

The bad news: the return of Samantha Who? continues to be delayed in favor of expanded episodes of The Bachelor.

The good news: Angie Harmon is joining the cast on the sitcom!

Sources confirm to Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly that the former Women's Murder Club star has been cast in the potentially recurring role of Gigi, the infamous (and insane) ex-wife of Sam's current boy toy, Funk.

Reportedly, Harmon's character plays a critical role in the show's mythology. When will she premiere?

In the the show's season finale. When will that be? ABC has not announced a date yet.

On the January 12 episode of Samantha Who?, Duran Duran's John Taylor guest stars.

The rocker appears on the sitcom as Tommy Wylder, a famous musician Samantha starts to date.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Titanic star Billy Zane has been cast on Samantha Who?.

The actor will replace Timothy Olyphant as Sam's ex, Funk; Olyphant - who originated the role of Sam's boss/almost fiancée last April - was unable to return due to his role on season two of Damages.

Zane's recurring role begins on episode 15, as Funk and Sam come face-to-face for the first time since she rejected his marriage proposal.

We had previously reported to you that Christine Ebersole has been cast as Samantha's aunt in an upcoming episode of Samantha Who?.  The guest stars don't end there!

According to Michael Ausiello, Samantha's grandmother has been cast and it's no other than Carol Brady herself... Florence Henderson!  Henderson's guest starring role will see grandma come in to settle an argumnent between Samantha's mom (Jean Smart) and her aunt (Ebersole).

Apparently Sam's aunt is a little annoyed at Regina for using Sam's amnesia to act like she never existed.  Who's better to resolve family problems than Mrs. Brady herself?

Forget Samantha Who?

How about: Regina's sister who?!?

In an upcoming episode of this great sitcom, Michael Ausiello reports that fans willl meet Regina's estranged sister, Amy. She's a glamour gal that quickly bonds with her impressionable amnesiac niece.

And the lucky actress that has landed the role? Christine Ebersole (pictured).
