The Bachelor has really been hyping up its season finale on Monday, March 2. So hard, in fact, that it's almost impossible to believe it could live up to such overblown expectations.

Well, if a new report we came across yesterday is to be believed, it just might.

Could it be that the woman Jason Mesnick chooses on the season-ender is not the woman he's dating right now - as revealed on not one, but two "intimate" After the Final Rose specials?

Jason Mesnick, who won America's hearts last summer on The Bachelorette, only to be spurned by DeAnna Pappas, says he's now engaged - and we will get to see it all unfold when he returns as the star of The Bachelor on January 5.

Hopefully Jason Mesnick can break the quote-unquote Bachelor curse ... which is less of a curse than a straightforward, seven-year run of bad relationships.

The Bachelor has yet to produce an actual marriage, although Charlie O'Connell and Sarah Brice are back together after splitting up awhile back, and Byron Velvick is still technically engaged to that crazy chick who beats his ass sometimes.

Trista Sutter (formerly Trista Rehn) was turned down on the finale of The Bachelor before starring on The Bachelorette and marrying Ryan Sutter. So far, Trista is the only success story from either show after DeAnna and Jesse Csincsak's breakup.
