Tammy Barr has been cast on The Young and the Restless.

Her role, described as that of "Young Patty," reveals an upcoming storyline on the show.

In an email, the actress wrote:

"The Young and the Restless has been bringing back previous characters and storylines and with the airing of episode 9180 on July 2nd fans will see that Mary Jane is really Patty Williams (Paul's sister and Jack's ex-wife).... Tammy will be in flashback scenes playing a young Patty in Mary Jane's dream sequence."

Everyone got that?!? We may to tune in if we wish to understand.

Yani Gellman plays Rafe on The Young and the Restless.

As the first gay male character in the show's history, the actor has received considerable press.

He was recently interviewed by with The Advocate and asked about Rafe's future on the show. Here are a couple excerpts from the article:

On Rafe's possible love interests: "I am very much an eligible bachelor. The truth is, I don’t know yet who my love interest will be, but I have a couple of people in mind. How’s that?"

On Rafe being more integrated into the storylines: "It definitely seems the direction he is going in. They keep that information close to their chests. The whole thing behind soaps and what makes them interesting to watch are the constant twists and turns and unexpected things happening in the plot to keep everyone interested."

On Wednesday's episode, formers Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda will host a call-in show on the drama that helps Kevin and Amber find a new path in their relationship.

The National League West division leaders will promote Lasorda's guest voice-over tonight when they host The Young and the Restless night at Dodger Stadium.

Prior to L.A.'s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Adrienne Frantz will sing the National Anthem; later, Jamia Simone Nash (Ana) will belt out a rendition "God Bless America" during the seventh-inning stretch.

Michael Muhney, best known by Veronica Mars fans for his role as Sheriff Lamb, has been cast on the The Young and the Restless as Adam Wilson.

According to TV Guide, Muhney's first air date on daytime's top drama will be Thursday, June 25. The actor replaces Chris Engen, who filled the role since February 2008.

Soap Opera Digest's Carolyn Hinsey spoke with Maria Arena Bell, the head writer on The Young and the Restless, last week.

Bell confirmed the rumor that a major character is coming back to town. She even told Hinsey the date: Friday, May 15.

Because we already know that's Lily and Cane's wedding, Hinsey surmises it could be Thom Bierdz, the original Phillip Chancellor.

"Nina's back, his grown son has just been cast with GL's John Driscoll, and Maria Bell is all about undoing everything Lynn Latham did," writes Hinsey. "Either that, or she finally talked her sister-in-law Lauralee Bell (Chris) into coming back."
